System and method for measuring fuel injection during pump operation
A method is disclosed of controlling operation of a fuel injector in response to measuring a quantity of fuel injected by the fuel injector from a fuel accumulator to an engine cylinder during operation of a fuel pump that delivers fuel to the accumulator, comprising: determining an average pressure of the fuel accumulator during a first time period before a fuel injection event; predicting a mass of fuel delivered to the fuel accumulator during a pumping event (Q.sub.pump); determining an average pressure of the fuel accumulator during a second time period after the fuel injection event; estimating a leakage of fuel; computing the injected fuel quantity by adding the average pressure during the first time period to Q.sub.pump, and subtracting the average pressure during the second time period and the leakage; and using the computed injected, fuel quantity to control operation of the fuel injector.
Fuel system test apparatus and method
A method that includes coupling an external, removable fuel pressurization system to a fuel system of a vehicle. The fuel system of the vehicle is pressurized with the fuel pressurization system while the vehicle is parked and without activating a fuel consumer (e.g., an engine) of the vehicle. Decay of pressure of the fuel system is monitored following pressurization of the fuel system, and one or more of a leak, or a replaceable component, of the fuel system of the vehicle is detected based on at least in part on the decay of pressure that are monitored.

LEAK DETECTION MODULE ENTROPY METHOD FOR EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM
A method of detecting a leak in an evaporative emissions system includes sealing an evaporative emissions system, achieving a first target pressure in the evaporative emissions system, achieving a second target pressure in the evaporative emissions system after achieving the first target pressure, and monitoring a system pressure subsequent to the second target pressure achieving step to determine a leak condition of the evaporative emissions system.
FUGITIVE GAS DETECTION SYSTEM
A fugitive gas detection system is provided. The system includes a cloud service, a plurality of reach-based components, a plurality of wireless gas sensors. The reach-based components comprise backhauls and gateways. The wireless gas sensors are acted as nodes to acquire sensor data in a local mesh network and the nodes are connected to the cloud service through the reach-based components, one node can transmit the sensor data to other sensor nodes of the local mesh network. The system measures flammable gas levels with speed, economy and accuracy.
ENGINE OVERSPEED DEVICE AND METHOD
Methods, systems and devices for evaluating incoming air to an engine, industrial controller including engine controls, valves and solenoids, for concentrations of explosive or combustible gases or vapors, and actuating process control including but not limited to shutting down an engine or other industrial process to control an outcome including the prevention of an overspeed condition when pre-set or calculated elevated gas or vapor concentrations are detected. In some embodiments industrial control including engine shutdown may be achieved conventionally via an electronic kill signal, a shutdown of the fuel injector, carburetor or fuel pump, and in emergency conditions by the shutoff of incoming air to an air intake, turbocharger, or other air delivery systems. Decisions based on explosive gas or vapor concentrations and species and the use of networking to allow additional systems to take action before explosive gases or vapors reach said other valve-sensor devices can provide additional safety.
Methods and systems for a pressureless fuel tank
Methods and systems are provided for executing a leak test diagnostic of a variable volume fuel tank. In one example, a method includes diagnosing a presence of an absence of a leak in a bellows via actuating a bellows valve fluidly coupling the bellows to a vapor canister during a key-off event.
LEAK TESTING APPARATUS
An apparatus is provided to test valves. The apparatus includes an actuation mechanism having an actuator that seals a valve of a combustion chamber of an engine. The apparatus further includes a flow control device that controls a flow of a pressurized fluid to the combustion chamber. The apparatus further includes a plurality of sensors having a first sensor and a second sensor. The first sensor is disposed in an inlet port of the combustion chamber to detect a first flow rate of the pressurized fluid in the inlet port. The second sensor is disposed in an exhaust port of the combustion chamber to detect a second flow rate of the pressurized fluid in the exhaust port.
