11160209 · 2021-11-02 · ·

A drive arrangement for the reciprocating drive of a cutter bar comprises a hydraulic gear motor with a housing and a gearwheel, which is set in motion around a first axis by a hydraulic medium, and an eccentric drive, which comprises an eccentric element that can be rotatably driven by a gearwheel around a second axis parallel to the first axis, and a drive element connected to the eccentric element, which is, or can be, connected to the cutter bar.

Three-section crop header with drapers and top cross auger

In a harvesting header having a main frame divided into a center portion and two wing portions connected for pivotal movement about axes and including a rear wall. A reel is mounted on first and second reel arms and a rear auger is mounted at the top of the rear wall. The reel and the auger are also divided into three sections arranged end to end along the rear wall. The joint in the auger is arranged not at the axis but at a position spaced inwardly of the axis so that a first flight of the auger extends inboard of the first reel arm and a second flight of the auger extends inboard of the second reel arm to carry the crop engaging the first flight past the first space to the center portion of the header frame.

HEADER FOR AN AGRICULTURAL HARVESTER HAVING INTEGRAL SEED SAVER
20230363314 · 2023-11-16 ·

A header for an agricultural harvester including an infeed conveyor having a fore end and an aft end, a center knife drive disposed adjacent to and forwardly of the infeed conveyor, and a knife drive cover covering the center knife drive. The knife drive cover includes a main body substantially covering an entire width of the center knife drive, and a seed saver extending rearwardly from an aft end of the main body. The seed saver is substantially planar, includes a width substantially the same as a width of the infeed conveyor, and defines a plane substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the infeed conveyor. The seed saver is integrated with the knife drive cover. As such, the seed saver is secured to the header without need for metal brackets and other associated mounting hardware.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING THE CONDITION OF THE CUTTING KNIVES OF A COMBINE HEADER

A header includes one or more vibration sensors mounted on a knife drive train of the header. The knife drive train includes a rotatable header drive shaft, a mechanical knife drive, a transmission for transferring rotation of the drive shaft to the knife drive and a support member with a set of knives attached thereto. The support member is coupled to the knife drive so as to undergo a reciprocating movement. One or more sensors are mounted on the support member or on a housing of the knife drive. The sensors are configured to measure a vibration in a direction of the reciprocating movement. The sensors may include accelerometers or strain gauges.

MULTI-SECTION HARVESTING HEADER AND CONTROL METHOD

A harvesting header for attachment to a harvesting machine, the header including two or more sub-assemblies each which includes a respective crop gathering mechanism and a respective drive mechanism coupled to operate the crop gathering mechanism. The drive mechanisms for the respective sub-assemblies are operable independently of one another to enable them to run at different speeds when the harvesting machine is performing a turn manoeuver.

Cutting system of an agricultural machine header

A cutting system for a header of an agricultural machine includes a knife guard having a plurality of guards that are spaced apart by a guard pitch, and a knife section that is configured to move with respect to the knife guard for cutting crop material. The knife section includes a plurality of knives that are spaced apart by a knife pitch. The guard pitch is neither equal to nor is a whole number multiple of the knife pitch.

COMBINE INTEGRATED DRIVES

A combine harvester having a main chassis frame with longitudinal chassis members located at least partially between the combine's front wheels and at least one drive element located at least partially within at least one chassis member.

HARVESTING HEADER HAVING A HYDRAULIC FLUID LOOP AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A harvesting header includes a header frame structured to be coupled to the crop-harvesting machine, a hydraulic pump carried by the header frame, at least one tool carried by the header frame, a hydraulic fluid loop carried by the header frame, a fluid inlet structured to receive hydraulic fluid from the crop-harvesting machine, and a fluid outlet structured to deliver hydraulic fluid to the crop-harvesting machine. The hydraulic fluid loop is structured to circulate hydraulic fluid within the header from the hydraulic pump to the tool(s) and back to the hydraulic pump. Related methods of operating a harvesting header and a non-transitory computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Reversible compression auger on harvesting header

A system and method for reversing a rotational direction of an auger of a header. The system includes a fluid line for delivering fluid to a motor that drives the auger. A directional flow control valve is connected to the fluid line and is movable between a first state in which the valve is configured to deliver the fluid to the motor in a first fluid direction to cause the motor to move the auger in a first rotational direction, and a second state in which the valve is configured to deliver the fluid to the motor in a second fluid direction that is different from the first fluid direction to cause the motor to move the auger in a second rotational direction that is opposite to the first rotational direction.

Harvester transport preparation

A harvesting platform is connected to a combine for movement with the combine over the ground surface. The harvesting platform includes a cutter bar that cuts a crop being harvested, and a reel that presses the crop against the cutter bar during harvesting. The cutter bar moves between a cutter bar harvesting position and a cutter bar transport position, and the reel moves between a reel harvesting position and a reel transport position. A controller receives a first signal from a user via a user interface, sends a second signal to the cutter bar to move the cutter bar between the cutter bar harvesting position and the cutter bar transport position in response to the first signal, and send a third signal to the reel to move the reel between the reel harvesting position and the reel transport position in response to the first signal.
