Method and system for identification of fuel injector
A method for identifying a fuel injector characteristic may include generating a signal to supply electrical current to the fuel injector, and monitoring the electrical current supplied to the fuel injector. The method may also include identifying the characteristic of the fuel injector based on the electrical current, the characteristic including a type of fuel injector, and performing a corrective action based on the type of fuel injector which was identified based on the electrical current.
Control Device for Fuel Injection Device
Provided is a control device for a fuel injection device capable of detecting a variation in valve opening start timing of the fuel injection device and stabilizing a fuel injection quantity. Therefore, the control device for the fuel injection device of the present invention is a control device for a plurality of fuel injection devices each including: a valve body that opens a fuel passage by separating from a valve seat; a movable element that causes an opening/closing operation of the valve body; and a stator that attracts the movable element by a drive current flowing through a coil. This control device includes a control unit that controls the energization time of the drive current by a pulse width of a drive command pulse. The control unit estimates a valve opening start timing having a correlation with a detected valve closing completion timing. Further, the pulse width of the drive command pulse is corrected based on the valve opening start timing.
Controller
A vehicle includes a pump configured to discharge a fuel by reciprocating a plunger, a rail configured to store the fuel discharged from the pump, and a fuel injection valve configured to inject the fuel supplied from the rail. A controller for the vehicle includes a waveform obtaining unit and a phase shift obtaining unit. The waveform obtaining unit is configured to obtain a waveform of a fuel pressure in the rail as a function of time in a predetermined period. The phase shift obtaining unit is configured to obtain a phase shift based on the waveform obtained by the waveform obtaining unit. The phase shift is an offset between a timing the plunger reciprocated in the pump arrives at a first position and a timing a piston reciprocating in an internal combustion engine arrives at a second position.
INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE
An injection control device includes: an arithmetic unit that obtains a valve-closing time for stopping injection of fuel from a fuel injection valve based on a degree of variation in a time change of a voltage generated when the fuel injection valve is driven based on a required injection amount; an injection amount change unit that increases or decreases the required injection amount; and a learning unit that repeats injection control of the fuel to learn the valve-closing time obtained by the arithmetic unit.
Method and system for valve position monitoring
A method for controlling a fuel injector of an engine system includes applying a pull-in current to close a spill valve of the fuel injector and detecting a timing at which the spill valve closes. The method also includes adjusting at least one of an amplitude of the pull-in current, a duration of the pull-in current, or a timing of a start of an application of the pull-in current based on the detected timing of the closing of the spill valve.
Control of cylinders of an engine according to an engine configuration scheme
An engine optimization controller may determine values of a set of input parameters of an engine and process, using an engine model, the values to determine a plurality of sets of potential output parameters. The engine optimization controller may determine, based on the plurality of sets of potential output parameters, an engine optimization scheme, which may indicate a first number of cylinders, of one or more cylinders of the engine, to be active and to receive gas; a second number of cylinders, of the one or more cylinders, to be inactive and to receive gas, and/or a third number of cylinders, of the one or more cylinders, to be inactive and to not receive gas. The engine optimization controller may provide the engine configuration scheme to another controller to allow control of the one or more cylinders and one or more fuel injectors according to the engine configuration scheme.
Method and system for fuel injector balancing
Methods and systems are provided for reducing errors in estimated fuel rail pressure incurred at the time of a scheduled injection event due to engine-driven cyclic fuel rail pressure changes. In one example, a pulse-width commanded during a scheduled injection event is determined as a function fuel rail pressure samples collected over a moving window that is customized for the corresponding fuel injector. In another example, the commanded pulse-width is determined as a function of an average fuel rail pressure sampled during a quiet zone of injector operation and predicted fuel rail pressure altering events occurring between the quiet zone and the scheduled injection event.
Knocking detection apparatus and internal combustion engine control apparatus
Provided is a knocking detection apparatus capable of reducing erroneous determination of knocking during transition, and improving knocking detection accuracy regardless of whether an engine is in steady operation or transient operation. A knocking detection apparatus according to the present invention estimates a background level based on an operating state of an internal combustion engine, and calculates a knocking determination index by using the estimated value.
FUEL INJECTION CONTROL APPARATUS
The present invention provides a fuel injection control apparatus that can suppress variations in fuel injection amounts in a very small fuel injection region. For this purpose, the fuel injection control apparatus includes a fixed injection pulse generator 10 and a drive current interruption unit 31. The fixed injection pulse generator 10 generates a fixed injection pulse having a valve opening timing at which a drive current is supplied to an electromagnetic coil 19 in an electromagnetic fuel injection valve 18 and a first valve closing timing at which the drive current to the electromagnetic coil 19 is interrupted. Within a period in which the fixed injection pulse is generated, the drive current interruption unit 31 determines an electric energy amount of a drive current supplied to the electromagnetic coil in response to a valve opening timing of the fixed injection pulse. When this electric energy amount reaches a preset, predetermined target electrical energy amount, the drive current interruption unit generates a second valve closing timing of the fixed injection pulse different from the first valve closing timing and then interrupts the drive current supplied to the electromagnetic coil before the first valve closing timing.
Method for Operating an Internal Combustion Engine Performing an Injection Quantity Correction
A method for operating a combustion engine performing an injection quantity correction is described. A total injection quantity per pulse of an injector is divided into a plurality of smaller equal quantity pulses. The smaller quantity pulses are implemented in ballistic injector mode. On the basis of this step, a corresponding offset correction is carried out. After the offset correction has been applied, a further correction is carried out in linear injector mode. An additional alternative for performing an injection quantity correction without additional sensor hardware is thereby provided.
