Also provided is a method for operating an internal combustion engine and an injector.
Fuel injection control device for internal combustion engine
An ECU as a fuel injection control device includes: an injector control part that energizes a magnetic circuit of a fuel injector by a specified injection pulse to thereby open the fuel injector and that energizes the magnetic circuit by a specified energization pulse within a range in which a needle valve of the fuel injector is not driven; and a storage part that stores information relating to a behavior of a drive voltage (minus terminal voltage) of the fuel injector when the magnetic circuit is energized by the injector control part by the specified energization pulse.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH INJECTION AMOUNT CONTROL
A combustion engine with at least one injector for the injection of liquid fuel into at least one combustion chamber is provided. The injector can be regulated by means of a regulating device through an actuator triggering signal, wherein the at least one injector has an outlet opening that can be closed by means of a needle. An algorithm is contained in the regulating device, which receives as an input value at least the actuator trigger signal, and which calculates via an injector model the mass of liquid fuel transferred via the outlet opening of the injector. The regulating device compares by means of the injector model, the calculated mass with a required target value ref of the mass of liquid fuel, to correct the actuator trigger signal.
Control device for internal combustion engine
The invention relates to a control device applied to a cylinder injection type of an internal combustion engine (10). The control device control a disperse parameter for changing a degree of a spread of the fuel spray injected from the injector (20) such that the maximum degree of the spread of the fuel spray under a state where an amount of the fuel adhering to the spark generation part (31a) of the spark plug (30) at the ignition timing corresponds to a first amount, is smaller than the maximum degree of the spread of the fuel spray under a state where the amount of the fuel adhering to the spark generation part at the ignition timing corresponds to a second amount smaller than said first amount.
Fingerprinting of Fluid Injection Devices
The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a method for characterizing a fluid injector that includes receiving a collection of waveform data, identifying a pull locus, determining a detection threshold level value, identifying a first subset of the collection of data representative of a selected first electrical waveform of the collection of electrical waveforms, identifying an opening value, identifying a representative closing value, identifying an anchor value, identifying a second subset of the collection of data based on the collection of data, the pull locus, the first subset, and the opening value, identifying a maximum electrical value, identifying an opening locus based the collection of data, the anchor value, and the maximum electrical value, identifying a hold value, and providing characteristics associated with the fluid injector comprising the pull locus, the opening locus, the hold value, the anchor value, and the representative closing value.
Method for operating a fuel injector
A method for operating a fuel injector having at least one injection orifice that is controlled by an injector needle, in which pressure variations during the opening and/or closing of the injector needle are ascertained with the aid of a sensor. In order to determine the opening/closing instant of the injector needle, a variable that characterizes the velocity of sound of a pressure wave by the opening and/or closing is measured, and the wave propagation time, by which the needle or valve opening/closing instant is corrected, is inferred therefrom.
FUEL INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE AND FUEL INJECTION CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
During rapid warm-up operation, a CPU executes full lift injection processing, in which a nozzle needle reaches a maximum lift amount, in an intake stroke of each cylinder of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine, and then executes partial lift injection processing, in which the nozzle needle does not reach the maximum lift amount, in a compression stroke. On the other hand, during learning of injection characteristics of partial lift injection processing, the CPU executes full lift injection processing after executing partial lift injection processing, both of which are executed within a predetermined period in an intake stroke. The CPU learns the injection characteristics based on an inflection point in the temporal change of the induced electromotive force in a coil following the end of the partial lift injection processing.
DETERMINATION OF A POINT IN TIME OF A PREDETERMINED STATE OF A FUEL INJECTOR
A method for determining a first time at which a fuel injector having a solenoid drive is in a first predetermined opening state. The method includes the following: (a) determining a second time at which the fuel injector is in a second predetermined state, (b) determining a stroke value of a moving component of the fuel injector, which stroke value corresponds to a movement path of the moving component which is covered when the fuel injector transitions between the first predetermined opening state and the second predetermined opening state, and (c) determining the first time at which the fuel injector is in the first predetermined opening state, on the basis of the second time and the stroke value. A method for actuating a fuel injector having a solenoid drive, an engine controller and a computer program.
