A control device of an internal combustion engine including an electronic control unit configured to execute: a base injection amount calculation process of calculating a base value; an injection valve operation process of operative the fuel injection valve; a feedback process of correcting an injection amount in the injection valve operation process; and a determination process of determining whether or not the amount of fuel flowing into the cylinders other than fuel injected from the fuel injection valve is equal to or larger than a threshold value. When it is determined as a result of the determination that the amount of fuel flowing into the cylinders other than the fuel injected from the fuel injection valve is equal to or larger than the threshold value, the electronic control unit (does not execute the process of injecting fuel from the fuel injection valve with the feedback process stopped.

REGENERATION METHOD FOR EXHAUST-GAS AFTERTREATMENT DEVICE IN ENGINE-DRIVEN COMPRESSOR, AND ENGINE-DRIVEN COMPRESSOR PROVIDED WITH SAID AFTERTREATMENT DEVICE
20170226945 · 2017-08-10 · ·

Provided is a forced-regeneration treatment method for an exhaust-gas aftertreatment device (DPF) and an associated engine-driven compressor. When the amount of particulate matter (PM) deposited in a filter element of a DPF reaches a predetermined amount and a forced-regeneration start command is input, a capacity controlling means of the engine-driven compressor is disabled to close an intake valve and to open the discharge side of a compressor main unit to atmosphere, thereby causing the compressor main unit to achieve a low-load state. The operation mode of the engine is switched to a predetermined forced-regeneration mode to operate the engine at a predetermined speed and to increase the temperature of the gas. The temperature inside the DPF is increased to reach a temperature at which an oxidative catalyst is activated and to a temperature lower than the self-combustion temperature of the PM, thereby forcibly burning the PM.

Controller for internal combustion engine, control method for internal combustion engine, and memory medium

A controller for an internal combustion engine, a control method for an internal combustion engine, and a memory medium are provided. The controller executes a deactivation process that deactivates combustion control in a specified one of cylinders. A compensation process operates a power generation device that produces driving torque applied to a driven wheel so as to compensate for insufficiency of the driving torque of a vehicle caused by the deactivation process. A prohibition process prohibits the deactivation process when it is determined that compensation by a predetermined amount or larger by the compensation process cannot be performed.

Exhaust gas purification system for engine

An exhaust gas purification system of engine configured to classify a PM accumulation state of DPF into multiple evaluation stages based on a plurality of evaluation indices, and to repeatedly perform determination of the current evaluation stage by the current stage determination part and determination of whether to move up the current evaluation stage to the evaluation stage of the next rank by the evaluation stage determination part, wherein upon a defect of a sensor among different types of sensors being detected by the defect detection part, the current evaluation stage is newly redetermined by the current stage redetermination part as substituted for the current evaluation stage determined by the current stage determination part.

Method and system for regeneration in a vehicle in a consist

Methods and systems for distributing engine output among vehicles of a consist are disclosed. One example system comprises a controller including non-transitory media having instructions stored on the media and executed by the controller for adjusting distribution of engine output between at least a first engine and a second engine in response to a regeneration mode, wherein the regeneration mode regenerates an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler that is coupled to the first engine.

Idle speed GPF regeneration

Systems and methods are described for coordinating the regeneration of a gasoline particulate filter to a time duration when engine output falls below a predetermined load threshold selected to indicate a low power state of the engine. In one particular example, the engine is configured to adjust engine operations to regenerate the particulate filter responsive to engine output falling below a predetermined low power threshold, the regeneration further based on an estimated duration that the output falls continuously below the low power threshold. The system and methods described advantageously allow for either full or partial regeneration events to be performed based on the estimated duration of the engine output below the low power threshold.

CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
20220268230 · 2022-08-25 ·

A control device and a control method for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine including a post-processing device are provided. The control device includes an electronic control unit executing a temperature raising process of raising the temperature of the post-processing device and a recovery-time process. The temperature raising process includes a stopping process and a rich process. In the stopping process, supply of fuel to several of cylinders is stopped. In the rich process, the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture for different ones of the cylinders other than the several cylinders is made lower than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. In the recovery-time process, the concentration of unburned fuel in exhaust gas discharged to the exhaust passage is made higher than an equivalent concentration, when the temperature raising process is stopped. The equivalent concentration is the concentration of unburned fuel being just enough to react with oxygen in the exhaust gas.
