Installing structure for electric variable valve timing apparatus
An electric variable valve timing apparatus includes a sprocket unit and an electric motor. The electric motor is fixed to a chain cover with bolts. The chain cover includes plural bosses each having an internal thread to which one of the bolts is threaded. The bosses extend from the chain cover toward the sprocket unit to positions at which the bosses face an outer periphery of the sprocket unit in a radial direction. The bosses are arranged such that, when the sprocket unit moves downward from an attaching position, at which the sprocket unit is attached to the camshaft, at least two bosses are engaged with the sprocket unit to restrict downward movement of the sprocket unit, and that the sprocket unit is allowed to move between a location outside of a space covered by the chain cover and the attaching position.
OIL FILTER ATTACHING STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE-MOUNTED INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
In an oil filter attaching structure for a vehicle-mounted internal combustion engine, an oil filter of the engine is installed in a filter case integrally formed with a crankcase cover of a crankcase. The crankcase cover is mounted on a side surface of the crankcase so as to cover an end of a crankshaft supported by the crankcase to extend in vehicle widthwise directions. An internal combustion engine accessory and a transmission clutch device are disposed inside of the crankcase cover in respective positions forward and rearward of the crankshaft. The oil filter and an oil supply port are disposed inside of the crankcase cover in respective positions upward and downward of the crankshaft. The oil filter attaching structure efficiently utilizes the space for making itself smaller in size and for better maintainability.
Oil pump, engine cover and engine comprising the same
An oil pump is provided. The oil pump comprises: a shell; a rotor mounting part on the shell and having a rotor supporting structure; and a rotor mechanism disposed on the rotor mounting part. The shell has an inlet and an outlet and defines a low-pressure oil chamber and a high-pressure oil chamber. A partition wall is disposed between the low-pressure oil chamber and the high-pressure oil chamber for separating the low-pressure oil chamber and the high-pressure oil chamber. An engine cover comprising the oil pump and an engine comprising the engine cover are also provided.
Oil pump, engine cover and engine comprising the same
An oil pump is provided. The oil pump comprises a shell, a rotor mounting part on the shell, and a rotor mechanism disposed on the rotor mounting part. The shell has an inlet and an outlet and defines a low-pressure oil chamber and a high-pressure oil chamber therein. A buffer chamber is defined between the low-pressure oil chamber and the high-pressure oil chamber, and a barrier wall is disposed between the buffer chamber and the low-pressure oil chamber. An engine cover comprising the oil pump and an engine comprising the engine cover are also provided.
Seal retention assembly and a seal
A seal retention assembly is disclosed. The seal retention assembly includes a cover defining an aperture along a longitudinal axis. The seal retention assembly further includes a seal coupled to the cover adjacent to the aperture. The seal retention assembly also includes a retention device cooperating with the cover and the seal to secure the seal in engagement with the cover. In addition, a seal is disclosed. The seal includes a body portion, with the body portion including a first side and a second side opposing each other along a longitudinal axis. The body portion also includes an outer periphery disposed between the first and second sides and faces away from the longitudinal axis. The seal further includes a first retainer extending from at least one of the outer periphery and the first and second sides for securing the body portion to a cover.
Dimpled surface features for radiated noise attenuation in engine front covers
An engine assembly is provided including a block defining a plurality of cylinders. A plurality of pistons are disposed in the plurality of cylinders and a crankshaft is drivingly attached to the plurality of pistons. A cover is mounted to an end of the block and supports a crankshaft seal around the crankshaft. The cover includes a dimpled pattern in a surface adjacent to the crankshaft seal.
COVER MEMBER OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A cover of an internal combustion engine includes a cover body to be mounted to a crankcase of the internal combustion engine. The cover body includes a through hole, a protruding part, and a plurality of first recessed grooves. The through hole is to support a shaft rotatably. The protruding part is provided above the through hole in an upward direction of the internal combustion engine and protrudes toward an inside of the cover body facing the crankcase. The protruding part includes a first upper part and a first lower part in the upward direction on an inner surface of the protruding part facing the crankcase. The plurality of first recessed grooves extend radially from the through hole so as to connect the upper part and the lower part of the protruding part.
Removable protective cover for motorcyle and all-terrain vehicle engines
A removable protective cover for engines and/or transmissions includes a central portion and a flexible peripheral flange that extends transversely from the central portion. The peripheral flange includes an engagement surface formed by a groove or other suitable feature on an inner side of the peripheral flange. A plurality of teardrop shaped washers or retainers have protruding portions that engage the groove to removably retain the cover on the engine. At least a portion of the peripheral flange comprises an elastomeric material such that the removable cover can be installed and removed by flexing the peripheral flange to cause the teardrop shaped washers to engage and disengage the groove.
