The apparatus includes a transport unit for transporting the product from the entrance opening to the exit opening and a steam feed unit for feeding steam into the treatment tunnel. The apparatus includes one or more nozzles in communication with the steam feed unit arranged for directing a jet of steam at the product.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR APPLYING PARTICULATES TO THE SURFACE OF MOLDED PRODUCTS
Molded products have particulates, and a method and device apply particulates to the surface of the molded products. In a general aspect, the molded product includes an undistorted three-dimensional design and has particulates that do not distort the shape of the three-dimensional design. The molded product can be made by a method including filling a mold in a die roll with one or more particulates, filling the mold with a dough, compressing the dough into the mold, and releasing the compressed dough from the mold to form the molded product.
Hydraulic Pelletizer
A hydraulic pelletizer for pelletizing a material comprising at least one pelleting chamber consisting of at least one feed cone receiving a material, at least one die, at least one roller pressingly engaging the die, a die engagement interface, and at least one feed deflector forcing the material between the roller and the die, at least one hydraulic drive system having at least one hydraulic motor, at least one hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor interface rotationally driving the die engagement interface, and a fluid tank; and a system controller, whereby the material enters the pelleting chamber where the hydraulic drive system powers the pelleting chamber components forming the material into a predetermined shape form in the die and upon reaching a desired size ejecting the pellets from the die.
EDIBLE PET CHEW
An edible pet chew 114 has a first casing 10 of plant base material and a second protein 12 of flavored material for example jerky that is wrapped with the first sheet to form alternating layers in the edible pet chew.
HIGH SPECIFIC MECHANICAL ENERGY EXTRUSION SCREW ASSEMBLY
High Specific Mechanical Energy extruder screw assemblies (14, 88, 98) and complete extruders (10, 86, 96) are provided, which include wide-flight intermediate screw sections (104) having axial flight widths greater than the flight widths of the inlet and outlet screw sections (102, 106) on opposite sides of the intermediate sections (104). The intermediate sections (104) provide increased friction and shear serving to enhance the SMEs imparted to comestible food materials during processing thereof.
MEAT DEWATERING ASSEMBLY
A meat dewatering assembly (10) includes a support frame (12), a twin screw dewatering unit (14), a drive assembly (16) coupled with the unit (14), and a perforated housing (60). The unit (14) has a pair of tapered, non-parallel, intermeshed, helically flighted screws (52, 54) presenting nip clearances (59) between the fighting (55). The drive assembly (16) serves to counter-rotate the screws (52, 54). In use, emulsified meat is passed into the housing (60) during counter-rotation of the screws (52, 54), in order to compress the meat within the clearances (59) and thereby express water from the meat. Adjustment collars (38) permit selective size alteration of the nip clearances (59).
HIGH THERMAL TRANSFER HOLLOW CORE EXTRUSION SCREW ASSEMBLY
High thermal transfer, hollow core extrusion screws (50, 52, 124, 126, 190) include elongated hollow core shafts (54, 128, 130, 192) equipped with helical fighting (56, 132, 134, 194) along the lengths thereof. The fighting (132, 134, 194) may also be of hollow construction which communicates with the hollow core shafts (54, 128, 130, 192). Structure (88, 90) is provided for delivery of heat exchange media (e.g., steam) into the hollow core shafts (54, 128, 130, 192) and the hollow fighting (132, 134, 194). The fighting (56, 132, 134, 194) also includes a forward, reverse pitch section (64, 162, 216). The extrusion screws (50, 52, 124, 126, 190) are designed to be used as complemental pairs as a part of twin screw processing devices (20), and are designed to impart high levels of thermal energy into materials being processed in the devices (20), without adding additional moisture.
DISTILLER GRAIN PRODUCTION DEVICE
In various embodiments, a device for producing a high density compact livestock feed from a loose granular material according to various embodiment can include a source for supplying a loose granular material to be treated and moving the treated material through a series of successive treatment zones. Rotatable screws are provided within an extruder to compress and transport the treated material a die. The treated material is pressed through the die while a two-dimensional cross-section compression is applied to the treated material. In various embodiments, the high density compact livestock feed is produced having a high protein content, a high fat content, high shipping durability, high quality, and high nutritional value, without the addition of additives.
Suet Mold Kit with Dual Headed Piston Ramrod
The present invention is a suet making kit and method for forming suet plugs from a birdwatchers own customized suet mixture. With the instant invention suet plug manufacturing kit, suet mixtures may be shaped and sized to fit various cavity sizes and cavity shapes on a plurality of already existing different bird feeders. The kit provides the tools for making a feed suet plug of a predetermined shape, having a length dimension and a length-wise axis. The tools include a at least one ramrod having two pistons and a plurality of mold sets each having a cross-section with a substantially similar cross-section as a ramrod piston. A kit is selected so that the cross-sectional configuration of the feed suet plug made with the kit corresponds generally in size and shape to the cross-sectional configuration of the birdwatchers existing bird feeder.
