Aircraft with a single fluid inlet aperture
An aircraft comprises a machine body. The machine body encloses a turbofan gas turbine engine and a plurality of ancillary systems. The turbofan gas turbine engine comprises, in axial flow sequence, a heat exchanger module, a fan assembly, a compressor module, a combustor module, a turbine module, and an exhaust module. The machine body comprises a single fluid inlet aperture, with the fluid inlet aperture being configured to allow a fluid cooling flow to enter the machine body and to pass through the heat exchanger module. The heat exchanger module is configured to transfer a waste heat load from the gas turbine engine and the ancillary systems to the fluid cooling flow prior to an entry of the entire fluid cooling flow into the fan module.
Cold regulating valve for a heat exchanger system of an aircraft propulsion system
A cold regulating valve for a heat exchanger system of an aircraft propulsion system, where the cold regulating valve includes an open frame which delimits an opening, two shutters with an external convex shape slidably mounted on the open frame between a closed position and an open position, a mechanism linked to the shutters and mobile between a first position and a second position, and wherein the mechanism moves the shutters from the closed position to the open position when it moves from the first position to the second position and vice versa, and an actuator acting on the mechanism to move it from the first position to the second position and vice versa. The specific embodiment of the cold regulating valve generates a low drag when the shutters are in a closed position.

GAS TURBINE ENGINE
An aircraft gas turbine engine includes a fan arranged to be driven by a gas turbine engine core. The core includes a first core module including a first compressor and a fan drive turbine interconnected by a first shaft, and a second core module including a second compressor and a second turbine interconnected by a second shaft, the first and second core modules being axially spaced. The gas turbine engine further includes an intercooler arrangement configured to cool core airflow between the first and second compressors, the intercooler arrangement including a cooling air duct provided in heat exchange relationship with a compressor duct provided between the first and second compressors, the cooling air duct including a fan air inlet configured to ingest fan air downstream of the fan, wherein the cooling air duct includes a flow modulation valve configured to modulate air mass flow through the fan air inlet.
Turbine engine comprising a heat exchanger in the secondary path
An aircraft turbine engine having a primary air flow path with low-pressure and high-pressure compressors, a secondary air flow path which is located around the primary path and runs coaxially thereto, the turbine engine including vanes distributed about a main axis of the turbine engine. A pressurized air circuit draws air between the low-pressure compressor and the high-pressure compressor or in the high-pressure compressor and supplies at least one component located close to a main axis of the turbine engine. The pressurized air circuit includes a heat exchanger between the stream of pressurized air and the stream of air flowing in the secondary path, the heat exchanger being arranged in at least one of the straightening vanes, where a heat exchanger pipe is arranged, the pipe having a pressurized-air inlet and a pressurized-air outlet that are located at the same radial end of the vane.

An aircraft turbine engine having a primary air flow path with low-pressure and high-pressure compressors, a secondary air flow path which is located around the primary path and runs coaxially thereto, the turbine engine including vanes distributed about a main axis of the turbine engine. A pressurized air circuit draws air between the low-pressure compressor and the high-pressure compressor or in the high-pressure compressor and supplies at least one component located close to a main axis of the turbine engine. The pressurized air circuit includes a heat exchanger between the stream of pressurized air and the stream of air flowing in the secondary path, the heat exchanger being arranged in at least one of the straightening vanes, where a heat exchanger pipe is arranged, the pipe having a pressurized-air inlet and a pressurized-air outlet that are located at the same radial end of the vane.
AIRCRAFT HAVING A SINGLE FLUID INLET APERTURE
An aircraft includes a machine body that encloses a turbofan gas turbine engine and a plurality of ancillary systems. The turbofan gas turbine engine includes, in axial flow sequence, a first heat exchanger module, a fan assembly, a compressor module, a combustor module, a turbine module, and an exhaust module. The aircraft includes a second heat exchanger module. The machine body comprises a single fluid inlet aperture, with the fluid inlet aperture being configured to allow a fluid cooling flow to enter the machine body and to pass through the first heat exchanger module. When a temperature of the fluid cooling flow is less than a temperature of a fluid to be cooled, the fluid to be cooled is directed to the first heat exchanger module, and when a temperature of the fluid cooling flow is greater than a temperature of the fluid to be cooled, the fluid to be cooled is directed to the second heat exchanger module and cooled using a fuel supply for the gas turbine engine.
Ram air thermal management system
An aircraft may have a heat generating component and an engine, at least one of which generates a heat load, and a thermal management system to cool the heat load. The engine may have a duct and an engine fan configured to draw an inlet air stream into an inlet portion of the duct, where at least a portion of the inlet air stream may be used as an engine air stream. The thermal management system may include a cooling circuit configured to circulate a fluid through the heat load such that at least a portion of it may be transferred to the fluid, a heat exchanger configured to enable heat transfer between the fluid and a cooling air stream, and a pumping device. The pumping device may be configured to draw the cooling air stream through the heat exchanger and into a portion of the engine air stream.
Ram air thermal management system
An aircraft may have a heat generating component and an engine, at least one of which generates a heat load, and a thermal management system to cool the heat load. The engine may have a duct and an engine fan configured to draw an inlet air stream into an inlet portion of the duct, where at least a portion of the inlet air stream may be used as an engine air stream. The thermal management system may include a cooling circuit configured to circulate a fluid through the heat load such that at least a portion of it may be transferred to the fluid, a heat exchanger configured to enable heat transfer between the fluid and a cooling air stream, and a pumping device. The pumping device may be configured to draw the cooling air stream through the heat exchanger and into a portion of the engine air stream.
Aircraft propulsion assembly comprising an air flow valve with a variable flow rate
A propulsion assembly having a heat exchanger and a system for supplying cold air including an air inlet in a stream of air, an air duct connecting the air inlet fluidly to the exchanger, and an air flow valve with a variable flow rate inside the duct, the valve including a hub having blades projecting radially from the hub forming a helix, each blade having a root mounted rotatably on the hub, the valve comprising an electric motor to drive the hub by a motor shaft, and structure for varying pitch angle of the blades, the extremity of each blade being flush with a wall of the duct, the valve controllable to a closed configuration where pitch angle of the blades is 0° and the valve prevents passage of air, an open configuration where pitch angle is 90°, and/or a charge configuration where pitch angle is between 0° and 90°.
