Maize Header For A Forage Harvester, And Forage Harvester Comprising Such A Maize Header
A maize header (2) comprising multiple mowing and infeed units (10) and comprising feeding drums (12) and turning drums (14, 15) arranged behind the mowing and infeed units (10), in the working position a feeding drum (12) is behind the two central mowing and infeed units (10a) and a first turning drum (14) is behind a transfer region between the central mowing and infeed units (10a) and a first lateral mowing and infeed unit (10b) that is laterally next to it, and to transfer the maize header (2) between the two positions, the mowing and infeed units (10) pivot relative to one another about axes (16) so the first lateral mowing and infeed units (10b) and one of the first turning drums (14) is pivotable relative to the adjoining central mowing and infeed unit (10a), so that, in the transport position, a frustoconical envelope (14a) of the respective first turning drum (14) is completely inside a permissible transport width of the maize header (2).
Corn header configured to reduce kernel losses
A corn harvesting header (24) includes a powered row unit (38) and a gathering hood (98). The row unit (38) defines a longitudinal crop row path that extends in a generally rearward crop travel direction and receives a corn row as the header (24) is advanced along the corn row. The gathering hood (98) partly overlies the row unit (38) and includes a laterally extending dam (132) that restricts corn from moving forwardly. The dam (132) at least partly defines a gutter to receive corn kernels and direct the corn kernels rearwardly.
Cutting mechanism for whole plant harvesting
A cutting mechanism for the harvesting of whole plants can include a number of mowing elements, which include a lower cutting disk and conveyor rotors located above, two transverse conveyors located in the back, and a delivery conveyor. The cutting disks of the mowing elements work together with a frame-affixed counter-blade and can be driven together with the corresponding conveyor rotors by a shaft. The shafts are driven by a gear arrangement that extends, on the front side, over the width of the cutting mechanism. The frame of the cutting mechanism can include a middle part and lateral parts that are placed so they can swivel, on the middle part, between a horizontal operating position and a raised transporting position.
Chopper assembly
A chopper assembly having a discharge conduit. A first and a second beater disposed within the discharge conduit and a first door and a second door in the bottom wall of the discharge conduit positioned below the first beater and the second beater respectively.
Corn head roller snout assembly set
A corn head roller assembly set having a snout fixed to an end bearing that allows the roller to maintain its rotating condition with respect to its own shaft The end bearing is fixed to a support arm for its arrangement linked to a chassis of a machine. A shaft projects outwards to be associated with a ball joint that is housed in a cavity that is defined between said support arm and an internal face of an end cap that is fixed by threading to the support arm. The support arm includes a transverse conduit that extends to an internal threaded section through which the threaded cap runs. A grub screw in the transverse conduit pushes a locking block.
