NTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH THERMOCHEMICAL RECUPERATION OF WASTE HEAT AND A METHOD FOR THERMOCHEMICAL RECUPERATION
A thermochemical recuperation (TCR) system that may use a water-alcohol mixture as an engine liquid coolant; that may include a TCR reformer configured to output a TCR product at pressure no less than twenty bars; a pressure regulator; and an TCR product accumulator configured to separate an outputting of the TCR product by the TCR reformer from a provision of the TCR product to the pressure regulator; wherein the pressure regulator is configured to provide the TCR product to a direct injector of an engine, thereby enabling the direct injector to inject the TCR product at a high pressure level—for example at a pressure level that exceeds twenty bars.
Reforming system and engine system
A reforming system includes a vaporizer configured to vaporize liquid fuel to produce fuel gas; a reformer configured to reform the fuel gas produced by the vaporizer to produce a reformed gas containing hydrogen; an air supplier configured to supply air to the reformer; a fuel gas supplier configured to supply the fuel gas to the reformer; a heater configured to increase a temperature of the reformer; a reformed gas flow passage through which the reformed gas produced by the reformer flows; a cooler disposed in the reformed gas flow passage and configured to cool the reformed gas; a circulation passage connecting the vaporizer with the cooler and through which refrigerant flows through the vaporizer and the cooler; and a circulation pump disposed in the circulation passage and configured to circulate the refrigerant through the circulation passage.
System and method for evacuating liquefied petroleum (LP) gas from a fuel distribution system
A vehicle includes an engine and a fuel system. The fuel system includes a fuel tank that stores liquefied petroleum (LP) fuel. The fuel tank includes a tank outlet port and a tank return port. The fuel distribution system supplies fuel from the fuel tank to the engine and returns unused fuel to the fuel tank. The fuel distribution system includes an engine supply line coupled to the tank outlet port, and a fuel rail disposed on the engine and coupled to the engine supply line. The fuel system includes a fuel discharge valve disposed on the fuel distribution system for removing fuel from the fuel distribution system.
Method and system for extending dilution limit of a prechamber spark ignition engine
A system includes an engine having a main combustion chamber and a prechamber containing a spark plug. The prechamber is in fluid communication with the main combustion chamber through at least one orifice. An engine intake line provides intake air to the engine. An engine exhaust line receives exhaust gases from the engine. An exhaust gas recirculation line transports a portion of the exhaust gases from the engine exhaust line to the engine intake line, forming an exhaust gas recirculation loop through the engine. The system includes a reformer having a reactor containing a catalyst-coated substrate. The reformer generates a gaseous reformate from a fuel. The system includes a prechamber feed line to transport a stream of the gaseous reformate from the reformer to the prechamber.
Method for delivering a fluid stored in liquefied form to an end user in gaseous form
A system and method is disclosed for storing a fluid in a storage vessel in liquefied form and delivering it in gaseous form to an end user through a supply line. The system comprises a pressure relief circuit for returning the fluid from the supply line to the vessel when predetermined conditions are met. The pressure relief circuit comprises a return line connected to the supply line and the storage vessel, a diversion line to divert the fluid elsewhere and a switching device operable to direct the fluid to either one of the lines, as a function of predetermined conditions.
PRESSURE REGULATOR WARM UP SYSTEM FOR A TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION UNIT
A method of warming a valve assembly includes receiving an exhaust flow through a first heat exchanger first inlet; heating a coolant received through a first heat exchanger second inlet with the exhaust flow; exhausting the exhaust flow through a first heat exchanger first outlet; and discharging heated coolant through a first heat exchanger second outlet towards a second heat exchanger assembly that is coupled to the valve assembly to heat the valve assembly.
PROPANE FUEL SYSTEM TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for thermal management of a direct injection propane fuel system are disclosed that include control a temperature of the fuel tank at or below a desired operating temperature to avoid venting of fuel to atmosphere.
Systems and methods for the catalytic production of hydrogen from ammonia on-board motor vehicles
The present invention relates, in general, to systems and methods for generating hydrogen from ammonia on-board vehicles, where the produced hydrogen is used as fuel source for an internal combustion engine. The present invention utilizes an electric catalyst unit to initiate an ammonia cracking process on-board during a cold start of the internal combustion engine, where a heat exchange catalyst unit is utilized once exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine has been heated to a threshold temperature suitable to perform the ammonia cracking process.
Propane fuel system temperature control systems and methods
Systems and methods for thermal management of a direct injection propane fuel system are disclosed that include control a temperature of the fuel tank at or below a desired operating temperature to avoid venting of fuel to atmosphere.
