09593606 · 2017-03-14 · ·

A suppressor for a gaseous fuel system is disclosed. The suppressor may include a cylindrical body having a first end opposite a second end along an axis. A vent opening may be disposed at the second end. A conduit may pass through the first end and may have an inlet disposed outside the cylindrical body and an outlet disposed inside the cylindrical body. The suppressor may include an acoustic core between the outlet of the conduit and the vent opening and configured to reduce a sound level of fluids exiting the conduit. The suppressor may include a thermal mass between the outlet of the conduit and the vent opening, wherein the thermal mass includes fluid channels and is configured to transfer heat energy to fluids exiting the conduit.

Gas mixer

The present invention pertains to a gas mixer for an internal combustion engine for mixing air with at least one admix gas, comprising a first duct segment having a first tube section and a first cone section, and a second duct segment having a second tube section and a second cone section. The first and second duct segments are stackable such that in a stacked state, a main gas conduit is formed by the first and second tube sections and an admix gas conduit is formed between the first cone section and the second duct segment. The present disclosure also pertains to a method for producing a gas mixer, comprising the steps of: for a predetermined mass flow of a gas to be admixed to air, calculating a flow cross section; machining at least one inner surface of an admix gas conduit such that at any position, the admix gas conduit comprises at least the calculated flow cross section; stacking two duct segments to provide the gas mixer. The present disclosure also pertains to a duct segment for being used in the gas mixer.

A supplemental fuel system for a machine with an engine is configured to monitor a voltage of a power supply of the machine based on voltage data acquired by a voltage sensor where the power supply is configured to receive power from an alternator driven by the engine, compare the voltage to a voltage threshold, and control an electronic lock off valve positioned between a supplemental fuel tank and an air supply system for the engine such that the electronic lock off valve is (i) closed to prevent a supplemental fuel from being provided from the supplemental fuel tank to the to the air supply system in response to the voltage being less than the voltage threshold and (ii) open or openable to permit the supplemental fuel to be provided to the air supply system in response to the voltage being greater than the voltage threshold.
