ARRANGEMENT FOR INTRODUCING WATER INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND CONTROL DEVICE
Methods and systems are provided for introducing water into an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. In one example, the system may include a water container, a water inlet for inputting water into the intake manifold, and a throttle valve that is arranged between an intake manifold inlet and the internal combustion engine, with the water container arranged at a higher point than the water inlet and the water inlet opening into the intake manifold downstream of the throttle valve. A switchable valve is arranged in fluidic connection with both the water container and the water inlet, with the result that it can enable or interrupt the introduction of water into the intake manifold and also create a Venturi effect at the water inlet, which draws water from the water container.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INJECTION IN A COMBUSTION ENGINE
The present invention relates to a method for controlling injection of a gaseous fuel, such as hydrogen or a hydrogen based gas, and a water-based fluid medium into a combustion engine. The method comprises the steps of: in a first operational mode injecting the gaseous fuel and optionally a water based fluid medium into a combustion chamber of the engine at a relatively high pressure; in a second operational mode injecting water as liquid into engine to reduce the temperature and pressure inside the combustion chamber, and injecting the gaseous fuel into the combustion chamber at a relatively low pressure.
Hydrogen intake assembly for a hydrogen internal combustion engine
A hydrogen intake assembly for a hydrogen internal combustion engine characterized in that the hydrogen intake assembly includes at least one air intake manifold comprising an air intake pipe comprising at least one air inlet and air outlets, air intake runners comprising air inlets and air outlets, a spacer having a wall defining an inner chamber receiving a mixture of air, water and hydrogen and comprising air inlets and mixture outlets delivering said mixture, a water rail comprising at least one water inlet and water outlets, said water outlets being embedded in the wall of the spacer and a hydrogen rail comprising at least a hydrogen inlet and hydrogen outlets.
CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR ENGINE
An engine includes water injection valves that inject water to intake ports connected to a cylinder. A controller for the engine is configured to selectively execute, for each of the intake ports, a synchronous injection that causes the water injection valve to inject water only during a valve opening period of the intake valve and an asynchronous injection that causes the water injection valve to inject water during a valve closing period of the intake valve. The controller is configured to perform, when executing a synchronous/asynchronous concurrent injection in which the intake ports includes an intake port in which the synchronous injection is executed and an intake port in which the asynchronous injection is executed, a switching process of switching the intake port in which the asynchronous injection is executed.

Internal combustion engine
An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase and a cylinder head. The cylinder head and the crankcase delimit at least one cylinder in which a translationally moving piston is arranged. A water injection device injects water into the at least one cylinder. A crankcase ventilation device is fluidically connected to the crankcase. A blow-by mixture containing injection water can flow through the crankcase ventilation device. The crankcase ventilation device has an activated charcoal filter. The blow-by mixture containing the injection water can flow through the activated charcoal filter.
Device for Injecting Water into a Combustion Chamber or into an Intake Tract of an Internal Combustion Engine
A device for injecting water into a combustion chamber or into an intake tract of an internal combustion engine includes a rail and at least one injection valve connected to the rail. The connection is produced by means of a rail cup, which surrounds the injection valve at the rail-side end of the injection valve. The injection valve has a feed channel open toward the rail, in which feed channel at least some portions of an insert are received in order to reduce the feed cross-section.
