Pick-up reel for an agricultural harvester having a constantly engaged roller bearing assembly

A cam assembly is provided for a pick-up reel of an agricultural harvester. The cam assembly includes a cam track, a roller bearing assembly, a crank arm, and a biasing member. The roller bearing assembly includes a baffle and first and second cam followers. The first and second cam followers are each mounted to the baffle in spaced apart relation and engaging the cam track. The crank arm is for mounting to the pick-up reel. The biasing member biases the roller bearing assembly relative to the crank arm.

Harvester head reel with extendable bat

A harvester head reel may include a bat support and an extendable bat supported by the bat support. The extendable bat may have a first segment and a second segment overlapping the first segment. The harvester head reels may further include a first finger extending from the first segment and a second finger extending from the second segment.

Cutter head with automatic setting of the reel finger orientation

A cutter head for a harvester, with a cutterbar for cutting crop from a field, a reel with reel fingers which is disposed above the cutterbar, and a cross conveyor for transporting the cut crop to a rear discharge opening. The reel includes reel arms that can be driven about a rotating axis, reel finger carriers supported on the reel arms so they can rotate about the lengthwise axes of the arms, with reel fingers mounted thereon, and an externally powered actuator connected to an electronic control unit for adjusting the rotary angle of the reel finger carrier relative to the reel arms.

A follower assembly of a cam assembly for a harvester reel including a baffle, a compressible member adjacent the baffle, and a roller spacer adjacent the compressible member. The follower assembly further includes a tubular cam follower housing the roller spacer, and a fastener extending through the tubular cam follower, the roller spacer, the compressible member and the baffle. The resultant follower assembly provides a construction which minimizes peening of the baffle, whereby the fastener maintains its clamp load such that the cam followers maintain engagement with the cam track and the potential for breakage of the fastener is minimized.

A crop harvesting header having a frame mounted on a propulsion vehicle has a cutter bar carrying a sickle knife and a draper transport. The draper is guided at its front edge by a longitudinally extending rail mounted on the frame for movement therewith. The cutter bar is mounted on the frame at spaced positions by spring blades attached to a fixed beam at the rear which allow up and down flexing movement of the cutter bar relative to the draper engagement member. At the center discharge the cutter bar is carried on shorter blades which are carried on a beam in front of the front draper roller. The small amount of flexing of the cutter bar combines with a balanced three piece header frame to provide effective ground following.
