EGR cooler and engine system having the same

An EGR cooler includes a tube assembly formed by stacking a plurality of tubes in which exhaust gas flows and a cover plate having a mounting portion formed concavely to mount the tube assembly thereon. A baffle is mounted at the tube assembly and adjusts flow of coolant inflow from a cylinder block. An inlet cover is installed on a first side of an outer surface of the cover plate to supply the exhaust gas to each tube and an outlet cover is installed on a second side of outer surface of the cover plate to exhaust the exhaust gas from each tube. At least one coolant passage in which the coolant flows is formed between the plurality of tubes.

Supply of an active prechamber for turbocharged gasoline engines with an air extraction downstream of an exhaust gas turbocharger

An internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder that has a main combustion chamber for burning a fuel/air mixture or a fuel/air/exhaust gas mixture and has a flushed prechamber connected to the main combustion chamber via at least one overflow duct on the fluid side. At least one exhaust gas turbocharger is provided that has a turbine for the expansion of the at exhaust gas leaving the at least one cylinder and a compressor for compressing fresh air or a fresh air/exhaust gas mixture to be supplied to the at least one cylinder as compressed charge-air. In a charge-air line downstream of the compressor, an extraction point is formed from which a flushing line branches off, via which a partial amount of charge-air of the compressed charge-air for flushing the at least one prechamber can be extracted.

ENGINE AND EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM
20220127996 · 2022-04-28 ·

A system for coordinated control of an engine and associated components over various engine-modes of operation. The system may include an engine (e.g., a diesel engine), one or more components controllable to adjust operation of the diesel engine, and a system controller. The system controller may be connected to the engine and the one or more components. The system controller may include a supervisory controller and one or more component controllers. The supervisory controller may receive system control variable set points and coordinate component control variable set points for the components to achieve the system control variable set points. The component controllers may control operation of the components to achieve the control variable set points for the components by setting manipulated variable set points for the components based on the component control variable set points and a model based non-linear dynamic inversion.

A gas-liquid separator includes an inlet pipe and an inner pipe. The inlet pipe includes a swirling flow generating member therewithin, and a first drain port through which the liquid exits. The inner pipe includes an opening at an end which is inserted into an end of the inlet pipe. The swirling flow generating member includes a vane supporting portion extending along an axis line of the inlet pipe, and stator vanes provided on an outer circumferential surface of the vane supporting portion. The vane supporting portion has a conical shape whose diameter gradually increases from a fluid entering side to a fluid exiting side of the gas-liquid two-phase fluid. The stator vanes surround the outer circumference with inclining relative to the axis line of the inlet pipe.

APPARATUS FOR REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION IN VESSEL COOPERATED WITH EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION AND INTELLIGENT CONTROL BY EXHAUST RECYCLING AND VESSEL INCLUDING THE SAME

The present invention relates to an apparatus for reducing greenhouse gas emission in a vessel cooperated with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and intelligent control by exhaust recycling (iCER), and a vessel including the same, in which EGR and iCER are combined so that NO.sub.x generation is reduced by EGR and CO.sub.2 and SO.sub.x are absorbed and converted into materials that do not affect environments, thereby preventing corrosion of an engine, improving combustion quality, increasing engine efficiency by iCER, and reducing methane slip.

Diesel engine with turbulent jet ignition

A diesel engine employs a turbulent jet ignition system and method. In another aspect, diesel fuel and air are premixed prior to introduction of the mixture into a main engine combustion chamber. A further aspect employs a turbocharger compressor to boost air pressure into a main piston combustion chamber and/or an ignition pre-chamber for missing with a heavy fuel, such as diesel.
