Air intake apparatus for internal combustion engine
In this air intake apparatus for an internal combustion engine, an external gas passage includes external gas introduction nozzles that introduce external gas into air intake pipes, and a length of each of the external gas introduction nozzles in a direction in which the external gas introduction nozzles extend is larger than an equivalent diameter of an exit of each of the external gas introduction nozzles.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A SPLIT EXHAUST ENGINE SYSTEM
Methods and systems are provided for operating a split exhaust engine system that provides blowthrough air and exhaust gas recirculation to an intake passage via a first exhaust manifold and exhaust gas to an exhaust passage via a second exhaust manifold. In one example, each of a first valve positioned in an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) passage, the EGR passage coupled between the intake passage and the first exhaust manifold coupled to a first set of cylinder exhaust valves, and a second valve positioned in a flow passage coupled between the first exhaust manifold and the exhaust passage may be adjusted based on a measured pressure in the first exhaust manifold.

Intake apparatus for internal combustion engine
This intake apparatus for an internal combustion engine having a first bank and a second bank includes: an intake pipe including one new-air intake pipe, two branched pipes, and a junction connecting the new-air intake pipe to the two branched pipes; an EGR gas pipe connected to the junction; and a partitioning member placed around an opening in the EGR gas pipe that opens toward the intake pipe. The partitioning member defines an EGR gas storage chamber. The EGR gas storage chamber has first-bank and second-bank flow passages in which the EGR gas flows toward the first bank and the second bank. The first and second effective cross-sectional areas in the first-bank flow passage and the second-bank flow passage are smaller than the flow passage cross-sectional area in the opening of the EGR gas pipe.
DIESEL ENGINE WITH TURBULENT JET IGNITION
A diesel engine employs a turbulent jet ignition system and method. In another aspect, diesel fuel and air are premixed prior to introduction of the mixture into a main engine combustion chamber. A further aspect employs a turbocharger compressor to boost air pressure into a main piston combustion chamber and/or an ignition pre-chamber for missing with a heavy fuel, such as diesel.

Intake apparatus
An intake apparatus includes an intake manifold, an EGR gas distributor, and an EGR cooler. The intake manifold includes a surge tank and branch pipes. The EGR gas distributor includes a gas inlet, a gas chamber, and gas distribution pipes connected to the branch pipes. The branch pipes are each formed with a connecting hole for the gas distribution pipes. The EGR cooler is provided adjacent to the gas chamber to warm the inside wall of the gas chamber and includes a hot water passage and a gas passage. The gas chamber and the hot water passage are arranged to traverse the branch pipes. The gas distribution pipes are connected to the corresponding connecting holes. The EGR gas distributor and the EGR cooler in an integrated form are attached to the intake manifold.
