Discharge valve and associated device

The invention concerns a discharge valve (17) intended to be fitted in a discharge duct of an apparatus designed to be driven by a fluid, in particular a turbocharger driven by the exhaust gases from an engine. The discharge valve (17) comprises a cavity (83) having a first (85), a second (87) and a third aperture (89), each intended to be connected to a respective duct, the discharge valve (17) also comprising first (91) and second (93) means for closing the first (85) and second (87) apertures, respectively, in order to control communication between the ducts.

EGR control method of internal combustion engine

The invention has an object to control an EGR amount accurately in transient time. An ECU switches EGR control to the one-valve EGR control and the both-valve EGR control based on a request EGR amount. When the EGR control is switched to the one-valve EGR control from the both-valve EGR control, an EGR valve of one bank is closed first. Next, during a time period until an opening degree restriction time period elapses after the EGR valve is closed, an opening degree of an EGR valve of the other bank is restricted to be smaller than a one-valve target opening degree. Subsequently, when the opening degree restriction time period elapses, restriction of the opening degree of the EGR valve is cancelled, and the opening degree of the EGR valve is changes to the one-valve target opening degree.

Systems and methods for controlling fuel factions delivered to different cylinders are provided. In one example, a controller is configured to, during a single engine cycle and responsive to a first condition, deliver a lower fraction of a first fuel into a donor cylinder in comparison to a fraction of the first fuel being injected into a non-donor cylinder and deliver a higher fraction of a second fuel into the donor cylinder in comparison to a fraction of the second fuel being injected into the non-donor cylinder.

An engine system having donor cylinders and non-donor cylinders is disclosed. The engine system may have a first intake manifold configured to distribute air into the non-donor cylinders, and a second intake manifold configured to distribute air into the donor cylinders. The engine system may also have a first exhaust manifold configured to discharge exhaust from the non-donor cylinders to the atmosphere, and a second exhaust manifold separate from the first exhaust manifold and configured to recirculate exhaust from the donor cylinders to the first intake manifold. The engine system may further have an orifice disposed in between the first intake manifold and the second intake manifold. The orifice may be configured to regulate a flow rate of fluid flowing from the first intake manifold to the second intake manifold. The engine system may further have a controller configured to selectively control the orifice in response to a desired exhaust gas recirculation operating condition.
