AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION ARRANGEMENTS IN PRE-CLEANER SYSTEMS
A spin tube assembly for an engine air cleaner is provided. The spin tube assembly includes a housing, a spin tube panel, a plurality of spin tubes and at least one constrictor. The plurality of spin tubes are supported on the spin tube panel in parallel relation to one another. Each spin tube of the plurality of spin tubes includes a helical element causing air entering the spin tube to rotate such that particles within the air are moved by centrifugal action outwardly against a wall of the spin tube. At least one spin tube of the plurality of spin tubes has a constrictor upstream from the helical element thereof. The constrictor causes a localized restriction of air entering the at least one spin tube compared to the spin tubes without constrictors. Methods of use and configuration are also provided.
Filter device
A filter device has a housing plate with a sleeve extending along a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the housing plate. The sleeve guides fluid containing particles along an inner sleeve surface to separate particles from the fluid and discharge the particles via a discharge window of the sleeve. An immersion tube plate opposite the housing plate has an immersion tube projecting coaxially into the sleeve for outflow of the fluid. The immersion tube has a sealing and centering section about an outer circumference of the immersion tube that forms a sealing surface parallel to the longitudinal axis and radially seals with an inner surface of the sleeve. The sealing and centering section extends about the immersion tube to provide coaxial alignment with the sleeve. A radial and/or axial expansion of the sealing and centering section is reduced in a predetermined region of the immersion tube opposite the discharge window.
Multi-modal multi-media air filtration system
The present invention relates to a multi-modal multi-media air filtration system which can include: a base having one or more connection features and a filter media assembly, the filter media assembly being configured to attach to the base at a first end and the cap at a second end. The filter media assembly also including a first filter media extending across a primary air flow path and a second filter media extending across a secondary air flow path. The air filtration assembly then includes a blocking mechanism and an actuation assembly being configured to work together so as to selectively open or close the secondary air flow path so as to alternate the degree of filtration passing through the filter media based on the degree of desired filtration.
AIR FILTRATION DEVICE
An air filtration device (1) of an air suction system of a vehicle engine includes a suction manifold (2) extending in length along a main axis (X-X). The air filtration device (1) further includes at least two tubular filters (3), a first tubular filter (31) and a second tubular filter (32) arranged in series along said main axis (X-X) inside the suction manifold (2). The air filtration device (1) further includes a support (4) supporting the tubular filters (3) in the suction manifold (2). The support (4) includes at least one connection element (45) which mechanically supports two consecutive tubular filters, connecting the filters fluidically. Furthermore, the support (4) includes a partialization device (41) to create an obstruction to the flow of clean air flowing inside the first inner cavity (31) to favor flow of air through the second tubular filter (32).
Precleaner system
A precleaner system for an air intake system. The precleaner system includes precleaners each having flow paths that induce a rotation to air flow and separate out particulate matter. The particulate matter is ejected from an outlet port in each of the flow paths and out of a dust ejector. The precleaned air is collected into a plenum from each of the precleaners. The precleaned air can flow from the plenum to a precleaner system outlet and the precleaned air can be received by an air intake system. A cover can be used to block air flow through one of the precleaners to tune the precleaner system to the desired airflow.
Compressor bypass flow arrangement
Methods and devices are disclosed for introducing a compressor bypass flow that is returned from location that is downstream of a pressure source of an internal combustion engine to an air filter housing that is located upstream of the pressure source.
Air delivery system for an engine
An air delivery system for an engine includes a first air filter, a second air filter, a first conduit, a second conduit, an air box, and a third conduit. Each of the first air filter and the first conduit, and each of the second air filter and the second conduit are disposed at a first angle with respect to a lateral axis of the air box. The first angle is adapted to limit restriction to flow of intake air from each of the first air filter and the second air filter toward the air box. The third conduit is disposed at a second angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the air box. The second angle is adapted to limit restriction to the flow of intake air from the air box to the engine.
TWO-WHEELED VEHICLE
A two-wheeled vehicle includes a frame having a front frame portion, a mid-frame portion, and a rear frame portion. The mid-frame portion is coupled to the rear frame portion and the front frame portion. The vehicle further includes a plurality of ground-engaging members for supporting the frame. The engine includes an air deflector to assist in cooling a rear cylinder of a V-twin engine. An accessory windshield is also shown which may be coupled to the handlebars and front forks of the vehicle. Also, a rear accessory attachment is shown mountable to the rear fender.
Air filter cartridge with internal structure
An air filter cartridge (1) for an air intake system for a vehicle engine extends along a main axis (X-X). The air filter cartridge includes a filter element (5), suitable to filter the air sucked through the filter eleemtn and having extension along the main axis (X-X) and an internal structure (3) that extends inside of the filter element (5). The internal structure (3) identifies a plurality of ducts (30) fluidically independent from each other through which the filtered air flows separately. Each duct (30) extends between an inlet mouth (31), placed in proximity of a respective filter element portion (51), and an outlet mouth (32) placed in proximity of the head element (2) in such a way as to induce the intake of air through each duct (30) through the respective portion of the filter element (51).
Air filter element assembly for a motor vehicle
A filter element assembly includes a filter body and an auxiliary filter. The filter body includes a sidewall around a hollow core. Further the filter body and auxiliary filter are both received and held on a support including a base and a cage.
