The air cleaner further includes a passage member (44) communicating with the filter chamber and incorporated with a plurality of air ejection pipes (44C) each surrounded by an annular air inlet passage (44E) fitted with guide vanes (44D) for rotating the air flow, and a case member (45) defining separation chambers (45C) for separating dust from the rotating air flow. The passage member (44) is interposed between the cover member (42) and the case member (45).
AIR FILTRATION DEVICE
An air filtration device (1) of an air suction system of a vehicle engine includes a suction manifold (2) extending in length along a main axis (X-X). The air filtration device (1) further includes at least two tubular filters (3), a first tubular filter (31) and a second tubular filter (32) arranged in series along said main axis (X-X) inside the suction manifold (2). The air filtration device (1) further includes a support (4) supporting the tubular filters (3) in the suction manifold (2). The support (4) includes at least one connection element (45) which mechanically supports two consecutive tubular filters, connecting the filters fluidically. Furthermore, the support (4) includes a partialization device (41) to create an obstruction to the flow of clean air flowing inside the first inner cavity (31) to favor flow of air through the second tubular filter (32).
SPACE OPTIMIZING AIR FILTER
An air filter and methods are provided for optimizing filtration of an airstream passing through a volume within an air cleaner cover of an internal combustion engine. The air filter comprises a base plate that includes an inlet receiver for passing the airstream into an air inlet of the engine. A top plate comprises a receiver for fastening the air cleaner cover onto the air filter. Countersinks in the top plate and sleeves extending through the air filter facilitate fastening the air filter onto the air inlet of the engine. The air filter has a tapering height along a length of the air filter to maximize the total surface area of a filter medium within the volume between the air cleaner cover and the engine, and to take advantage of a relatively greater airflow due to a ram air opening in the air cleaner cover.
Method of forming filter arrangements; and, apparatus
A filter cartridge arrangement for use in air cleaners is provided. The filter cartridge arrangement includes a media pack including a plurality of inlet flutes and outlet flutes extending between first and second opposite flow faces and formed from an arrangement of facing sheet secured to corrugated sheet. An example cartridge includes a preform secured to the media pack. In some forms, the preform includes an arrangement extending over one of the flow faces.
Filter with variable cross-section axial seal
Filtration systems having filter elements having an axial seal member with a variable cross-section are described. The variable cross-section is matched by the non-planar sealing surfaces of the housing and housing cover that receive the filter elements. The non-planar sealing surfaces of the housing and the housing cover prevent proper filtration system function when an unauthorized replacement filter element having a flat axial seal member is installed in the housing.
Straddled vehicle
A straddled vehicle includes an air cleaner and a resonator. The air cleaner includes an air cleaner case, an air-cleaning element arranged inside the air cleaner case, and a duct that is attached to the air-cleaning element. At least a portion of the duct is arranged inside the air cleaner case, and the duct guides the air toward the air-cleaning element. The resonator has an outer wall arranged around the duct. The duct and the outer wall together define at least a portion of a resonance chamber of the resonator.
AIR CLEANER
An air cleaner capable of, even when a flow rate of air flow flowing in the air cleaner is high, performing flow rate measurement with high measurement accuracy via an air flow sensor attached to an outlet pipe is provided. The above problem can be solved by an air cleaner 1 including a plurality of ribs 41, 42, 43 disposed at an inner surface of a housing 2 defining a clean-side air chamber 23, the plurality of ribs 41, 42, 43 extending from a corner portion 24 of the housing, the corner portion 24 being distant from a filter element 4 and an outlet pipe 21, toward the filter element 4 and the outlet pipe 21 and terminating short of a surface 25 of the housing with the outlet pipe 21 provided, the plurality of ribs 41, 42, 43 being configured such that a distance d between adjacent ribs narrows toward the outlet pipe 21.
Air Filter Element Having a Circumferentially Protruding Clean Air Seal, Filter Housing and Air Filter
An air filter element for an air filter for an internal combustion engine is provided with a filter medium surrounding annularly a longitudinal axis of the air filter element. A first end disk is provided at a first end face of the air filter element, wherein the filter medium is embedded in the first end disk at the first end face. A clean air seal is configured to seal a raw side of the air filter against a clean side of the air filter. The clean air seal and the first end disk are embodied together as one piece. The clean air seal protrudes continuously radially past the filter medium. A filter housing for the air filter element is provided with a filter pot and a cover and has a clean air outlet and a raw air inlet arranged at a side wall of the filter pot.
Air filter element, in particular for gas filtration
An air filter element has a filter medium body that has a wall to be flowed through by a fluid to be purified in a radial direction relative to a longitudinal axis of the filter medium body. The filter medium body has a first end face and an oppositely positioned second end face. The filter medium body has an elongate cross section shape with two oppositely positioned narrow sides and two oppositely positioned long sides connecting the two narrow sides. A cross section surface of the filter medium body tapers from the first end face toward the second end face. The two long sides each have an inwardly oriented radial constriction in a region of the narrow second end face, wherein, in a region of the first end face, the two long sides are formed without or at least approximately without the inwardly oriented radial constriction, respectively.
