Air filter housing with closing arrangement, air filter, and vehicle
The invention relates to an air filter housing for use in an air cleaning arrangement for cleaning air to be provided to an air inlet of an internal combustion engine. The air filter housing comprises: a filter housing inlet for receiving air; and a filter housing outlet for providing filtered air to the air inlet of the internal combustion engine when an air filter is arranged inside the air filter housing between the filter housing inlet and the filter housing outlet. The air filter housing further comprises a closing arrangement controllable to be in each of a first state in which the filter housing outlet is closed by the closing arrangement, and a second state in which the filter housing outlet is open. The closing arrangement may comprise an iris shutter.
AIR CLEANER DEVICE
This air cleaner device is capable of preventing liquid, in the air that has been sucked in, from escaping to the downstream side of a filter element. The air cleaner device is provided in an intake passage of an internal combustion engine, and comprises: the filter element for removing foreign matter contained in the air that has been sucked into the intake passage; and a collision/separation part which is disposed on a surface of the filter element such that the liquid is separated from the air as a result of the air colliding with the collision/separation part, on the upstream side of the filter element in the suction direction of the air.
Curved base air cleaner
An apparatus and methods are provided for an air cleaner to be mounted onto an air inlet of an internal combustion engine. The air cleaner comprises an air filter that includes a filter medium disposed between a curved base and a cover. The curved base provides an interface between the air filter and the air inlet, and comprises a shape that provides clearance between the curved base and an electric choke installed onto a carburetor comprising the air inlet. The cover secures the air filter and the curved base to the air inlet such that an airstream is drawn through the filter medium and is conducted into the air inlet. A raised portion of the cover is configured to cooperate with the curved base to ensure a desired volume of the airstream is available to the air inlet at substantially all engine speeds.
MULTI-LIPPED GASKET FOR AN AIR INTAKE ASSEMBLY
Systems and methods are disclosed for an air intake assembly comprising an airbox defining a plenum for enclosing an air filter, an intake tube attached to the air filter at a first end of the intake tube, the intake tube having a shoulder, and a multi-lipped gasket for detachably connecting the intake tube to the airbox, the multi-lipped gasket comprising a body portion defining a bore for sealingly engaging the intake tube, a lip adjacent the bore for engaging the shoulder of the intake tube, and a pair of distal lips for sealingly engaging the airbox, wherein the airbox, the air filter, and the intake tube are adapted so that air flows into the airbox, through the air filter, through the intake tube, and into a combustion engine (optionally reaching the combustion engine by first passing through a turbocharger and intercooler) of a vehicle.
FILTER SYSTEM
Systems and methods for coupling filter elements to at least one flange extending inside a housing are disclosed. In one aspect, a filter system may include a housing having an inlet, an outlet, a first end, a second end, a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end, a longitudinal centerline, and at least one flange extending inside the housing; and a plurality of filter elements located inside the housing, the plurality of filter elements each including an end shaped to couple directly to the at least one flange.
Round filter element, in particular for gas filtration
A round filter element has a filter medium body with a wall to be flowed through by a fluid to be purified in a radial direction relative to a longitudinal axis of the filter medium body. A circumferentially extending seal carrier is arranged at or adjacent to an end face of the filter medium body. A sealing element is supported at the seal carrier adjacent to a radial outer side of the filter medium body. A positioning element extends into the filter medium body and engages with a correlated housing-associated counter positioning element of a filter housing when the round filter element is installed in the filter housing. The seal carrier separates flow-tightly a raw side of the round filter element from a clean side of the round filter element when the round filter element is installed in the filter housing.
SUPER-PLEATED VEHICLE AIR FILTER
An apparatus and method are provided for an air filter configured to be mounted onto an air inlet of an internal combustion engine. The air filter comprises a first end cap configured to couple with a base which is configured to support a conventional air filter and provide an interface between the conventional air filter and the air inlet. A filter medium which is relatively thicker than the conventional air filter is configured to remove particulate matter and other contaminates from an incoming airstream. A second end cap is configured to couple with a cover which is configured to fasten the conventional air filter and the base onto the air inlet, such that the incoming airstream is directed through the filter medium. The air filter is configured to be installed in place of the conventional air filter without necessitating alteration of the base and cover.
RADIAL AIR CLEANER
An air cleaner for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The air cleaner may include a housing defining an interior and having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The housing may include an air inlet configured to be fluidly coupled to an air intake of the internal combustion engine and an air outlet configured to be fluidly coupled to a compressor of the internal combustion engine. The housing may include a general cylindrical shaped section extending from the first end and an inverse taper section located distally from the generally cylindrical shaped section and extending towards the second end. A diameter of the inverse taper section may increase from a first end towards the second end.
Methods and systems for an airbox
Methods and systems are provided for an airbox. In one example, the airbox is a single piece comprising features to receive and retain a platform for an air filter. The airbox comprises curved elastomers which engage with coupling elements of the platform.
Filter with interlocking housing interface
A filter element includes first filter media, second filter media, a frame, and a seal member. The frame is coupled to the first filter media and the second filter media, the frame securing the first filter media and the second filter media into a V-shape. The seal member is attached to and extends from the frame. The seal member includes a U-shaped channel structured to receive a ridge of a housing when the filter element is installed in the housing. The seal member is structured to form a seal between the filter element and the housing when the filter element is installed in the housing.
