An air cleaner has a first housing having an inlet and an upper opening, a second housing having an outlet and a lower opening, a filter element arranged between the upper opening of the first housing and the lower opening of the second housing. The first housing includes a looped wall, which protrudes from the inner surface thereof, and a vibrating body, which is made of a non-air permeable material and fixed to the upper end of the looped wall. Inside the first housing, an air chamber is defined by the inner surface of the bottom wall, the inner peripheral surface of the looped wall, and the lower surface of the vibrating body.

An air filter system for a motor vehicle includes a common housing, first and second D-shaped filter elements and a common cover. The common housing defines a first airflow chamber extending between a first inlet duct and a first outlet duct and a second airflow chamber extending between a second inlet duct and a second outlet duct. The first airflow chamber is fluidly separated from the second airflow chamber. The first D-shaped filter element is disposed in the first airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the first airflow chamber. The second D-shaped filter element is disposed in the second airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the second airflow chamber. The common cover is secured to the housing and closes the first airflow chamber and the second airflow chamber.

An air filter cartridge for use with an air cleaner assembly is provided. A variety of features for the air filter cartridge are characterized. An example air filter cartridge is depicted, which includes opposite flow faces. A preform secured to the media pack, with a seal member is described. An example seal member described has an outer perimeter shape that is not rectangular, not circular, and not oval.

An interface air filter and assembly for use with an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The assembly has a housing having an air intake port and an opening. There is an air filter assembly comprising an air filter having a closed end and an open end and a reducing coupling. The reducing coupling has a first end with a first engaging member having an external circumference and outer surface, a second end with a second engaging member having an external circumference less than the first engaging member external circumference, and the second engaging member has an inner surface. The first end of the reducing coupling is attached to the open end of the air filter. The air filter assembly is in contact with the housing such that the air filter resides within the housing and the outer surface of the first engaging member engages the housing. The inner surface of the second engaging member is adapted to contact an air intake tube outer surface so that air can pass from the air intake port into the housing then through the air filter and into the air intake tube.

A filter cartridge for a filter for filtration of a fluid has a prismatic basic shape with a base face and a top face arranged parallel to each other and each having a polygonal basic shape. The prismatic basic shape is provided with a first lateral face and a second lateral face neighboring the first lateral face, wherein the first lateral face is an inflow surface and is substantially positioned perpendicular to the neighboring second lateral face. The prismatic basic shape has a third lateral face that is an outflow surface and is positioned at an angle relative to the first lateral face, wherein the angle is greater than 10 and smaller than 80. A filter with such a filter cartridge is disclosed.

A filter cartridge for a filter for filtering of fluid is provided with an inflow surface, an outflow surface, and a main flow direction extending from the inflow surface to the outflow surface. A filter body is provided. A filter cartridge frame supports the filter body. A seal is disposed on the filter cartridge frame in the area of the outflow surface and separates a filter interior of a filter into a clean side and a raw side. A spacer structure is provided that determines a spacing between the filter cartridge frame and a further downstream filter cartridge in the main flow direction. Another configuration of the filter cartridge is provided that has an edge protection extending externally circumferentially about the filter cartridge frame in the area of the inflow surface. The edge protection connects the filter body and the filter cartridge frame with each other.

A filter cartridge for a filter for filtering a fluid is to be used downstream of a main filter cartridge in a filter and is provided with an inflow surface, an outflow surface, and a main flow direction extending from the inflow surface to the outflow surface. A filter body is provided that can be flowed through along the main flow direction. A filter cartridge frame supports the filter body. A seal is disposed on the filter cartridge frame and separates a filter interior of a filter into a clean side and a raw side. An adhesive connection is provided that connects the filter body and the filter cartridge frame to each other. In one configuration, the filter cartridge frame at an inflow side is provided with a grip area, wherein the grip area enables inflow of a fluid into the filter body via the grip area and manual removal of the filter cartridge.

An air filter cartridge arrangement, an air cleaner assembly, and components therefor, are provided. The air filter cartridge generally has perimeter shape with an arched side. The filter cartridge may include a media pack comprising strips of single facer material, each strip comprising fluted sheet secured to a facing sheet. In an example depicted, arch-shaped sections of single facer material are nested within one another, to form media pack having a perimeter D-shape. An air cleaner assembly configured for receipt of filter cartridge is described. A particular assembly, convenient for mounting on the cowl, cowling or engine cover of an over-the-highway truck, is provided.

An air filter housing has an inner housing space adapted to receive an air filter element. The air filter housing includes a first housing end and a second housing end located axially opposite the first housing end in relation to the inner housing space, and an outlet pipe extending from the second housing end axially into the inner housing space. The outlet pipe has a center axis and an opening configured to receive clean air from the inner housing space, wherein at least an axial portion of the outlet pipe has a cross-sectional area along a geometrical plane perpendicular to the centre axis which is tapering.

Disclosed herein are air intake assemblies for internal combustion engines. In some embodiments, an air intake assembly includes an air filter configured to produce filtered air, a sealed filter housing configured to house the air filter therein, and an intake tube configured to convey the filtered air to an internal combustion engine. The filter housing includes an air intake port configured to provide intake air to the air filter. The air filter is configured to remove particulate matter from the intake air and produce the filtered air. The air filter includes a multi-component coupling interface configured to accept an intake-end portion of the intake tube in the coupling interface. The filter housing includes an aperture configured to accept the coupling interface of the air filter in the aperture. Also disclosed herein are methods of the air intake assemblies.
