Problem In an air intake structure for an internal combustion engine 1 where a compressor impeller 22 of a turbocharger 20 is disposed in an air intake passage (4) of the internal combustion engine 1, not to prevent an ice clump 15 from appearing on an inner wall surface of the air intake passage (4), but prevents this ice clump 15 from colliding with the compressor impeller 22, especially, a vane 22a of the compressor impeller 22 when the ice clump 15 formed on the inner wall surface of the air intake passage (4) peels off. Solution A capture member 30 is provided upstream side with respect to the compressor impeller 22 in the air intake passage (4). The capture member 30 is configured to capture an ice clump 15 formed at an inner wall surface of the air intake passage (4) when the ice clump 15 peels off.

AIR INTAKE WATER SEPARATOR

Various embodiments relate to an air intake duct. The duct includes louvers forming an air inlet to a housing. Each louver includes an inlet section and an angled section, the angled section inclined with respect to the inlet section. The duct includes the housing positioned downstream of the louvers in an air flow direction. The housing includes a drain configured to permit separated water from an intake air passing through the louvers and into the housing to be drained from the housing. The duct includes an inner inlet duct that provides the intake air to a component. The inner inlet duct extends into the housing and positioned downstream of the louvers in the air flow direction. The inlet duct extends above the drain by a distance thereby forming a well in the housing between a top of the inner inlet duct and the drain.

Air intake structure for outboard motor

An air intake structure for an outboard engine wherein air which is taken in from an air intake opening provided in an engine cover for covering the upper part of the outboard engine is supplied to and sucked into a throttle body. The engine cover has an air intake opening which is open at the front of the outboard engine in the forward movement direction and a lid member which can open and close the air intake opening. A space which connects the air intake opening and the throttle body is provided separated from an engine room.

INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

The internal combustion engine includes a compressor for supercharging intake air, an EGR device for introducing EGR gas into an intake passage at a position on an upstream side relative to the compressor, and a collecting pocket that is provided at an outer circumference of a compressor inlet and that collects condensed water generated inside the intake passage on an upstream side relative to the compressor. The collecting pocket opens towards the upstream side of the compressor, and is formed in a circular ring shape that surrounds the outer circumference of the compressor inlet. The collecting pocket includes a partition wall that holds back a flow of condensed water that attempts to move in a downward gravitational direction inside an internal space of the collecting pocket.

The presently disclosed embodiments utilize an ice separator vessel to trap ice particles in a non-homogeneous ice/fuel mixture flowing in a fuel system. A source of heat, such as heated fuel provided to the ice separator vessel, is used to melt at least a portion of the ice particles so that they do not enter the fuel system downstream of the ice separator vessel.
