Passively managed hood and plenum fed air induction system with parallel contaminant management features
An air induction system includes a hood inlet duct having a first induction inlet and an air induction plenum assembly having a second induction inlet. The air induction system also includes an air box in fluid communication with the air induction plenum and the hood inlet duct. The air box defines an inner box cavity. The air induction system also includes a panel filter disposed inside the air box, wherein the panel filter divides the inner box cavity so that the first induction inlet and the second induction inlet are upstream of the panel filter.
Intake module of an air intake tract of an internal combustion engine
An intake module of an air intake tract of an internal combustion engine is provided with an intake housing part that has at least one inlet for combustion air to be filtered and an outlet section. A filter housing part with an air filter element that filters the combustion air is provided. The filter housing part has an inlet section and at least one outlet for the filtered combustion air. An air connection between the outlet section of the intake housing part and an inflow side of the air filter element is provided. A fixed intake pipe part is arranged between the outlet section of the intake housing part and the inlet section of the filter housing part. The fixed intake pipe part at least partially forms the air connection between the outlet section of the intake housing part and the inflow side of the air filter element.
ENGINE ASSEMBLY IN COMPARTMENT
An engine assembly including an internal combustion engine configured to be received in an engine compartment and a heat exchanger having a first conduit fluidly connected to a fluid circuitry of the engine and a second conduit fluidly connecting an interior of the engine compartment to its environment. The first conduit is in heat exchange relationship with the second conduit. The assembly further includes a forced air system operable in use to provide an air flow from the environment to the outlet via the second conduit of the heat exchanger and the engine compartment. The assembly further includes a selector valve configurable to selectively fluidly connect an air intake of the internal combustion engine with the interior of the engine compartment in a first valve position and with the environment in a second valve position. A method for supplying air to an internal combustion engine is also discussed.
Cowl stay structure for vehicle, and vehicle including same
In a cowl stay structure for a vehicle which is mounted on a front end part of a body frame having a pair of main frames extending longitudinally to the left and right, and which supports a cowling, a cowl stay supporting the cowling has a front opening which serves as a duct with a hollow structure designed to guide the air taken in from a front side of a vehicle body to an air cleaner box. The cowl stay is mounted on a front surface of a head pipe arranged on the front end of the body frame for establishing a flow path of the front opening with said head pipe opening. A headlight configured to irradiate an area in front of a vehicle with light is placed inside the cowl stay. Such a cowl stay structure has reduced size and weight, and it supports multiple parts.
Utility vehicle
A utility vehicle includes: an engine; an engine room in which the engine is contained and that has a front opening in a front face thereof and a rear opening in a rear face thereof; and an air intake duct that has an air inlet in a front part of a vehicle body and extends in a front-rear direction, the air intake duct guiding air from the air inlet to the front opening, in which the engine room includes a bottom plate and a left partition wall and a right partition wall that are provided on respective sides, in a vehicle width direction, of the engine and cover at least a crankcase part of the engine in side view.
Control system of at least one flap of a fluid duct and fluid duct system
A control system of at least one flap of a fluid duct of an intake system of an internal combustion engine, including: a swivel axis, at least one flap connected off-center to the swivel axis by which the at least one flap can be swiveled within the fluid duct between positions with different degrees of opening, a swivel lever connected to the swivel axis, the swivel lever pivoting the swivel axis, an elastic working return element connected directly or indirectly to the swivel lever and applying a force to the at least one flap to return the at least one flap toward a home position.
UTILITY VEHICLE
