A carburetor for the combustion engine in a handheld work apparatus has a carburetor housing in which a carburetor drum is mounted rotatably about a pivot axis. The carburetor drum has a drum body which has at least one channel which runs transversely with respect to the pivot axis and forms an intake channel portion. A sensing unit for sensing at least one rotational position of the carburetor drum is provided. The sensing unit includes a control contour and a sensing device interacting with the control contour. The control contour is formed on the carburetor drum. A method for operating a combustion engine makes provision for the control device to control the supplied quantity of fuel depending on the rotational position, sensed by the sensing unit, of the carburetor drum.

Power tool

A power tool has an internal combustion engine with an injection valve through which fuel is supplied to the internal combustion engine; a crankcase; and a crankshaft arranged in the crankcase so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation. A fan wheel housing is provided and a fan wheel is arranged in the fan wheel housing and conveys cooling air to the internal combustion engine. In the fan wheel housing a connecting opening is formed. The injection valve is arranged in a cooling area, wherein cooling air is supplied by the fan wheel through the connecting opening to the cooling area.

A fuel tank and at least one electric component are provided. An air cleaner assembly having an oblong cross section shape and is shaped to cooperate with non-circular air filters. An intake tunnel passes around a portion of an exterior of a filter housing body and overlies an air inlet into the filter housing body. The intake tunnel initiates rotational or cyclonic movement of air directed into the filter assembly. A cover cooperates with a longitudinal end of the filter housing assembly and allows access to the non-circular air filter. The air cleaner assembly is constructed to allow visual inspection of the interior of the air cleaner assembly. The air cleaner assembly includes a filter body support that defines an air duct that communicates filtered air toward an underlying power tool or internal combustion engine and that at least partially supports the air filter assembly relative to the underlying equipment.

The hook is configured to fasten to the catch of the base for securing the case in a closed configuration. The guide is configured to facilitate placement of the hook and prevent lateral slipping of the hook from the catch of the base. The base and the cover define an interior volume of the air filter assembly sized to receive the filter element.
