AIR INTAKE DEVICE
An air intake device includes a supercharger, a connection tube, an intercooler, and an intake manifold. The supercharger is connected to an exhaust port of a cylinder. The intercooler is connected to the supercharger through the connection tube. The intake manifold is connected to the intercooler and an intake port of the cylinder. The intercooler is located above a cylinder head of an engine. The device of the present disclosure features less height space occupation, a short connection tubeline between elements and a compact structure, which is beneficial for an increase of the pressurization response speed and reduction in the cost.
Integrated intake manifold
Systems and methods for directing and controlling air flow into an internal combustion engine are presented. In one example, an aluminum cylinder with two welded bearing holders is over molded with a short fiber reinforced polymer composite throttle body housing. The short fiber reinforced polymer composite throttle body housing may be welded to an engine intake manifold or it may be part of the engine intake manifold.
Compressed air generation system and automotive vehicle comprising such a system
This compressed air generation system (12) for an automotive vehicle (V) comprises: —a turbocompressor (4) feeding an internal combustion engine (2) of the automotive vehicle (V) with compressed air, —an air compressor (8), —at least one compressed air tank (10) connected to an outlet pipe (82) of the air compressor (8), the air compressor (8) comprising an inlet pipe (80) fed with compressed air from the turbocompressor (4). The compressed air generation system (12) comprises a pressure regulator (14) placed downstream the turbocompressor (4) and upstream the air compressor (8) and which limits the pressure (P8) of the compressed air fed from the turbocompressor (4) to the air compressor (8) to a first threshold (T1).
AIR INTAKE FOR SNOWMOBILE
An assembly for a snowmobile includes an airbox having a plenum for coupling to a throttle body of an engine and two branches defining openings for air intake. A storage box is mounted between the two branches and defines area for receiving a console. The airbox is part of a hood of the vehicle and includes an opening over a storage box. The disclosure also includes a ribbed bumper mount with a latch assembly for securing the hood.
Pressurized air induction system
Methods and systems are provided for boosted engines. In one example, a method for a boosted engine method may include storing compressed air in a reservoir for supply to the engine during increased engine load operating conditions and replenishing the air in response to pressure dropping below a nominal threshold; and increasing the pressure beyond the nominal threshold in response to increased temperature of the stored air in the reservoir even when operating conditions include decreased engine load, and purging the increased temperature stored air to bring pressure back down toward the nominal threshold. In one example, increasing pressure to the reservoir may include supplying compressed air from an air suspension system. In one example, increasing pressure to the reservoir may include supplying compressed air from an air compressor separate from an engine turbocharger compressor. In one example, the method may include, in response to a vehicle operator tip-in during the increasing of the pressure beyond the nominal threshold, simultaneously supplying stored compressed air to the engine while replenishing the air.
THROTTLE DRIVE ACTUATOR FOR AN ENGINE
A throttle drive actuator for an engine includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor connects with a valve of a throttle body to rotate the valve, to open a close an air passage of the throttle body of the engine.
Control apparatus for compression-ignition type engine
An engine control apparatus includes an ignition control section and an injection control section. When partial compression ignition combustion is carried out, the ignition control section causes an ignition plug to carry out: main ignition in which a spark is generated in a late period of a compression stroke or an initial period of a expansion stroke to initiate the SI combustion; and preceding ignition in which the spark is generated at earlier timing than the main ignition. Also, when the partial compression ignition combustion is carried out, the injection control section causes the injector to inject fuel at such timing that the fuel exists in a cylinder at an earlier time point than the preceding ignition. Energy of the preceding ignition is set to be lower when an in-cylinder temperature specified by an in-cylinder temperature specification section is high than when the in-cylinder temperature is low.
METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AN ENGINE WITH TWO THROTTLES
Systems and methods for operating an engine that includes two throttles that are arranged in parallel to deliver air into a single intake manifold are described. In one example, a first throttle and a second throttle are opened according to a value of a variable that changes as a function of a requested engine air flow.
Throttle drive actuator for an engine
A throttle drive actuator for an engine includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor connects with a valve of a throttle body to rotate the valve, to open a close an air passage of the throttle body of the engine.
Intake apparatus for internal combustion engines
An intake apparatus for an internal combustion engine may include: an air duct coupled to a front of an engine compartment, and having a first inlet and a second inlet formed on an outer side of the air duct and a passage space defined therein; and an integrated valve coupled to the air duct to selectively open and close the first inlet or the second inlet.
