A breather device for an engine which prevents a blow-by gas outlet passage from being blocked due to freezing, is provided, which includes a valve holder in a cylinder head cover and a breather valve supported by the holder. The holder includes a holder body having a valve port of the breather valve, a metal outlet passage pipe having a blow-by gas outlet passage formed inside, the blow-by gas outlet passage communicating with the valve port and being located below the valve port, and a heater that heats the outlet passage pipe. An outer peripheral surface of the outlet passage pipe is wrapped with the holder body formed of a material having lower thermal conductivity than that of the outlet passage pipe. The holder body has a heater insertion port, and the heater is inserted from the heater insertion port toward a heat input wall of the outlet passage pipe.

An intake chamber member (42) positioned in an upper part of an intake manifold (31) is supported by an engine main body (11) via a first support member (50) and a second support member (51) at laterally spaced apart parts of the intake chamber member. A lower part of the intake manifold is connected to a cylinder head of the engine via downstream ends of branch pipes (43) of the intake manifold. The fuel delivery pipe extends laterally between an intake side of the engine main body and the branch pipes.

An internal combustion engine system includes at least one combustor, a compressor arranged to compress air, an air guide arranged to guide compressed air from the compressor to at least one of the at least one combustor, an expander arranged to expand exhaust gases from at least one of the at least one combustor and to extract energy from the expanded exhaust gases, and an exhaust guide arranged to guide exhaust gases from at least one of the at least one combustor to the expander, wherein the exhaust guide is at least partly integrated with the air guide.

A system includes a generator and an enclosure surrounding the generator, the generator having an air intake and an inside surface. The system also includes an air intake housing affixed to the inside surface of the enclosure and fluidly connected to the air intake, the air intake housing terminating in an air intake housing inner plate positioned at inner edge of the air intake housing. The air intake housing inner plate has a plurality of air intake holes. In addition, the system includes a damper, the damper abutting the air intake housing inner plate, the damper having a plurality of damper holes. The damper is adapted to slide along the air intake housing inner plate.

Intake manifold having failure controlling features

An intake manifold is provided that comprises a plurality of intake manifold runners 12, and each intake manifold runner comprises at least one elongated rib 15 and at least one elongated blister 14. The elongated rib 15 and the at least one elongated blister 14 operate together to control structural failure of the intake manifold in an impact event. Specifically, the elongated rib acts to receive and concentrate load while the at least one elongated blister provides an area of intentional failure, thus restricting the failure to a focused area on the intake manifold.

Disclosed is an intake distributor for an internal combustion engine that includes an integrated heat exchanger. This exchanger includes a support plate that ensures its rigid mounting in the distributor and peripheral seal that form an essentially continuous circumferential airtight barrier between the exchanger and the distributor, peripherally dividing the interstitial volume into two. The subdivision plane of the interstitial volume is perpendicular in relation to the plane of the support plate, and the peripheral seal consist of two complementary components that are connected to one another and made integral with the exchanger.

The compressor of a forced induction device is provided in the intake passage of an internal combustion engine. An introduction passage for introducing purge gas into the intake passage is connected to the intake passage. A bent portion is provided at a position of the intake passage that is upstream of the compressor. The curvature of the bent portion in the direction in which the intake passage extends is greater than the curvatures of the portions of the intake passage that are located upstream and downstream of the bent portion. The introduction passage is connected to a part of the bent portion that is on the inner side of the bending direction.
