INTAKE SYSTEM OF ENGINE HAVING INTAKE DUCT
An intake system of an engine having an intake duct includes an intake line disposed to transmit a gas including ambient air to a combustion chamber of an engine. An intake duct formed in a preset section of the intake line and configured to transmit the gas to the combustion chamber. The intake duct is formed of metal, and a coolant jacket formed in a preset region of an outer surface of the intake duct and disposed to cool a gas flowing in the intake duct. A coolant inlet for supplying a coolant is formed at one side of the coolant jacket and a coolant outlet for discharging the coolant is formed at another side of the coolant jacket.
INTERCHANGEABLE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLIES
An apparatus may comprise a base member defined by a rectangular aperture configured to receive and engage an automobile intake airbox. The base member may be further defined by a perimeter surrounding the rectangular aperture and having at least one fastener or aperture configured to receive a fastener dimensioned to avoid disturbing the automobile intake airbox. A gooseneck member may be fixedly attached to the base member. The gooseneck member may have a first end opening and a second end opening, with an interior cavity configured to direct air into the automobile intake airbox from the second end opening to the first end opening. An interchangeable bell housing may be removably secured to the second end opening of the gooseneck member. The interchangeable bell housing may have a frustoconical shaped cross section on at least one plane.
CHEMICALLY RESISTANT INSERTS AND/OR SPACERS FOR AN INTAKE MANIFOLD THAT ENABLE FLOW OF COOLANT FLUID AND KITS HAVING THE SAME
Intake manifolds for an internal combustion engine include a first insert configured as a port cap that has a bottom surface defining a first perimeter recess configured to receive a first sealing member, a second insert configured as a port cap that has a bottom surface defining a second perimeter recess configured to receive a second sealing member, and a main body having a first set of runners extending in a first direction therefrom and a second set of runners extending in an opposite direction therefrom. Both the first set of runners and the second set of runners each terminate at a back end with a flange that defines a socket configured to receive one of the first and second inserts, respectively. The first insert and the second insert are seated in their respective socket, and each are made of a material that is chemically resistant to coolant fluid.
Interchangeable intake manifold assemblies with interchangeable flare housings
In one aspect, an apparatus may include a base member being defined by an aperture configured to receive and engage an automobile intake box, the base member being further defined by a perimeter surrounding the aperture and having at least one fastener or aperture configured to receive a fastener dimensioned to avoid disturbing the automobile intake box; a base member fixedly attached to the base member, the base member having a first end opening and a second end opening, the base member having an interior cavity configured to direct air into the automobile intake box from the second end opening to the first end opening through the interior cavity; and an interchangeable bell housing removably secured to the second end opening of the base member, the interchangeable flare housing having a plurality of types of shaped cross sections on at least one plane.
INTERCHANGEABLE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLIES WITH INTERCHANGEABLE FLARE HOUSINGS
A method of installing an interchangeable intake assembly on an automobile includes removing a stock air intake component, positioning a base member over an automobile intake box such that the aperture receives and engages the automobile intake box, securing the base member using at least one fastener dimensioned to avoid disturbing the automobile intake box, and removably securing an interchangeable flare housing to a second end opening of the base member. The base member may have an interior cavity configured to direct air into the automobile intake box. An interchangeable intake assembly may comprise a base member, an interchangeable flare housing removably secured to the base member, and an LED unit disposed within the housing and electrically coupled to a vehicle ignition system. The assembly may comprise a cotter pin coupling system with a dual-lock mechanism for securing the interchangeable flare housing.
