An air intake device for an internal combustion engine of the present invention includes a water discharge passage extending from a bottom surface of a control valve housing part recessed in a housing passage forming part of an air intake passage to an air intake port. The water discharge passage is formed independently from the air intake passage, and includes: a water collection groove recessed in the bottom surface; a water discharge hole formed penetrating a cover of a valve control housing; and a water discharge hole penetrating a flange part of an insert inserted into the air intake port. The downstream end of the water discharge hole is connected to a space defined between an air intake port inner wall surface and an insert cylindrical part.

A throttle body adapter connects a throttle body and an air intake manifold spaced from the throttle body in a marine engine. The throttle body adapter has an air passage having an inlet and an outlet of different shapes. The throttle body adapter has threaded openings which allow a fuse box, an electronic control module, a hose fitting and a mounting bracket for a beauty cover to be mounted to the throttle body adapter with threaded fasteners. The throttle body adapter further comprises a threaded opening adapted to receive an air inlet temperature sensor.

Air intake duct for motorcycle

An air intake duct (50) for a motorcycle supplies air taken in through an air inlet (24) in a front portion of a vehicle body to an engine (E) located at a center portion, in a longitudinal direction of the motorcycle, of the vehicle body. The air intake duct (50) includes a duct front (69) having the air inlet (24) formed at a front end thereof, and a duct body (70) removably coupled to a rear end portion of the duct front (69). The duct body (70) extends in the longitudinal direction so as to pass through an outer lateral side of the engine (E) and is removably connected at a rear end portion thereof to an air cleaner (40). In a state in which the duct body (70) is removed from the air cleaner (40), a cleaner element (87) can be attached and removed.

Intake module of a fresh air system

An intake module of a fresh air system for an internal combustion engine may include a housing having openings through which fresh air is flowable, and a control device for controlling a cross-section of the openings. The control device may include at least one control staff rotationally mounted about an axis rotation on the housing by at least one bearing bracket, and at least one control valve rotationally fixed on the control shaft for at least one of the openings. The housing may have at least one bearing receiving portion having an insertion opening through which the bearing bracket may be inserted in an insertion direction oriented perpendicularly to the axis of rotation. The bearing bracket may have a first bearing part having a first bearing section on which the control shaft rests with a circumferential section, and a second bearing part having a second bearing section opposite the first bearing section on which the control shaft rests with a second circumferential section opposite the first circumferential section. The bearing parts may each have an inner surface facing one another in a transverse direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation and insertion direction, and at least one flat positioning surface extending perpendicularly to the transverse direction and raised from the inner surface. The positioning surfaces of the first and second bearing parts may rest flat against each other, and a gap may be formed in the transverse direction between the inner surfaces outside the positioning surfaces.

Charge motion control valve seal and method of assembly

In an intake manifold that has charge-motion-control valves (CMCVs), a gap exists between the flapper valves and the wall of the intake runners. Although the gap is maintained as small as practical, it cannot be eliminated because manufacturing tolerances and temperature variations to which the intake manifold is subjected must be accommodated to prevent binding of the flapper valves. Some flow makes an end run through the gap leading to undesirable fluid mechanics. Disclosed herein is a seal that is positioned to rest gently upon the flapper valve near the gap such that the gap is substantially sealed off while applying a modest force on the CMCV so that the actuation torque is minimally impacted. The seal has a press-in-place portion inserted into a pocket formed in the manifold to hold it in place and a lip portion that extends out from the press-in-place portion to obstruct the gap.

An air cleaner includes a housing and a filter element located within the housing. The housing includes a housing body and a fiber molding assembly. The housing body is formed by a plastic molding. The housing body has a wall located upstream of the filter element in an air flow direction and a recess, which is an inwardly recessed part of the wall. The fiber molding assembly is fixed to the wall, covers the recess from outside, and forms a part of a side wall of an inlet passage together with the recess. A communication hole for communication between the inlet passage and an interior of the housing body is formed in the recess.

An air-guiding component for a charged internal combustion engine has an intercooler provided with coolant connectors that is disposed in a housing of the air-guiding component. The housing has at least two housing parts including a basic housing part. The housing is provided with at least one inlet and at least one outlet for charge air and is further provided with at least one passage for the coolant connectors of the intercooler. The intercooler is arranged between the at least one inlet and the at least one outlet so as to be flowed through by the charge air. The housing has housing walls and at least one of the housing walls has at least one corrugation.

A clamp secured to the duct causes the ribs to provide a continuous and sufficient contact force across a seal surface, eliminating the need for constant tension clamp and improving the air intake joint seal to prevent leakage that is especially common in cold environments.

An intake manifold for an internal combustion engine having at least one runner having a top end, a bottom end, a front side, and a back side defining a hollow interior space wherein the top end has a first height greater than a second height of the bottom end, and a port for receiving air into the hollow interior space, the back side having cylinder holes aligning with cylinder head openings of the internal combustion engine and bolt holes for receiving bolts, each bolt having a bolt head and a bolt thread, the front side having access holes aligning with the bolt holes, such that the intake manifold can be secured to the internal combustion engine with no portion of the bolt thread lying within the hollow interior space of the intake manifold thus preventing obstruction of air circulation through the hollow interior space.
