AIRCHARGER AIR INTAKE SYSTEM AND METHOD
An apparatus and a method are provided for an aircharger air intake system for filtering and conducting an airstream to an air intake of an engine. The aircharger air intake system includes an air filter comprising a filter medium configured to entrap particulates flowing within the airstream. An air box comprising one or more sidewalls and a mount wall is configured to support the air filter within an engine bay. The air box is configured to be mounted, or fastened, onto the engine. An intake tube is coupled with the air filter and configured to conduct the airstream to the air intake of the engine. The intake tube is configured to be coupled with an air temperature sensor or a mass air sensor of the engine. An adapter is configured to couple the intake tube with the air intake.
Mass airflow sensor and hydrocarbon trap combination
A combined mass airflow sensor and hydrocarbon trap is provided for absorbing evaporative hydrocarbon emissions from an air intake duct of an internal combustion engine. The combined mass airflow sensor and hydrocarbon trap comprises a duct that supports a hydrocarbon absorbing sheet in an unfolded configuration within a housing. The duct communicates an airstream from an air filter to the air intake duct during operation of the internal combustion engine. An opening in the housing receives a mass airflow sensor into the duct, such that the mass airflow sensor is disposed within the airstream. Guide vanes extending across the duct reduce air turbulence within the airstream passing by the mass airflow sensor. Ports disposed along the duct allow the evaporative hydrocarbon emissions to be drawn into the interior and arrested by the hydrocarbon absorbing sheet when the internal combustion engine is not operating.
Quantity measurement device with detection unit contacting housing
A physical quantity measurement device measures a physical quantity of a fluid. A detection unit has a physical quantity detector that detects a physical quantity of the fluid in a measurement flow channel. A housing accommodates at least a part of the detection unit and forms the measurement flow channel. The housing includes a housing attachment that is attached to a predetermined attaching target, and a position holder holding a position of the detection unit by contacting the detection unit. The housing includes an inward part positioned inward of the attaching target and an outward part positioned outward of the attaching target. The position holder is provided inward of the housing attachment in an alignment direction along which the inward part and the outward part are aligned.
Molded air intake system and method for internal combustion engines
A Molded Air Intake System and Method for Internal Combustion Engines. The method of the present invention permits the single-shot molding of an air intake system, such as by roto-molding. The resultant air intake system has an internal pipe element and an external element, both of which are formed with superior molding tolerances. The internal pipe element is defined by an inner mold form that is insertable and removable from an external mold form. The final molded part defines an outer wall and an inner wall and an MAFS mounting pad having inner and outer apertures formed therethrough.
Systems for crankcase ventilation
Systems are provided for a crankcase ventilation system. In one example, a crankcase ventilation (CCV) system for an engine configured to transmit crankcase gases into a clean side air duct, the clean side air duct comprising a sensor and a crankcase ventilation spigot, wherein the crankcase ventilation spigot is configured to be disposed downstream of the sensor, the crankcase ventilation spigot having an outlet configured to direct crankcase gases emerging from the crankcase ventilation spigot away from the sensor.
Physical quantity measurement device and method for manufacturing physical quantity measurement device
A physical quantity measurement device includes a physical quantity detector and a support plate part superposed on a back surface of the physical quantity detector to support the physical quantity detector. The physical quantity detector includes a recessed part on the back surface, and a membrane part defining a bottom surface of the recessed part and being provided with a detection element for detecting a physical quantity of a fluid in a measurement low path. An area of the support plate part covering the recessed part includes a communication hole communicating with the recessed part. A peripheral edge portion of a hole opening, which is an end of the communication hole adjacent to the recessed part, is spaced apart, toward the inside, from a peripheral edge portion of a recess opening, which is an end of the recessed part adjacent to the support plate part.
Physical quantity measurement device
A physical quantity measurement device includes a physical quantity detector that detects a physical quantity of a fluid in a measurement flow path, a physical quantity processor that receives a detection result of the physical quantity detector, and a support plate part that supports the physical quantity detector and the physical quantity processor. The support plate part includes a detector support portion to which the physical quantity detector is attached, and a processor support portion that is located at a position spaced apart from the detector support portion and to which the physical quantity processor is attached. Between the detector support portion and the processor support portion, a heat transfer regulation portion is provided to regulate heat transfer from the processor support portion to the detector support portion.
Physical quantity detection device
To obtain a physical quantity detection device capable of reducing an intake amount of air accompanied by foreign matter. A physical quantity detection device (20) of the invention includes a housing arranged in a main passage through which a measurement target gas (2) flows. The housing is provided with a second sub-passage (B) that takes in a part of the measurement target gas (2) flowing in the main passage, a circuit chamber (135) that accommodates a pressure sensor (320) that detects a pressure of the measurement target gas (2), and a pressure introduction passage (170) having one end opened in the middle of the second sub-passage (B) and the other end opened in the circuit chamber (135) and capable of introducing the pressure of the measurement target gas (2) from the second sub-passage (B) into the circuit chamber (135). In the pressure introduction passage (170), an introduction port (171) is arranged at a position offset outward from a side wall surface (152b) of the second sub-passage (B).
Control of an opposed-piston engine with a mass airflow sensor located after a charge air cooler
An opposed-piston engine includes an electronic sensor located in a charge air channel, at position between an outlet of a charge air cooler and an air intake component that distributes charge air to cylinder intake ports of the engine. The electronic sensor is disposed to measure a rate of mass airflow between the outlet of the charge air cooler and the intake component and generate electronic signals indicative of the rate of mass airflow from the charge air cooler. A control mechanization of the opposed-piston engine is electrically connected to the electronic sensor for controlling air handling devices, fuel provisioning devices, and/or EGR devices in response to the electronic signals.
