Internal Combustion Engine, Motor Vehicle Comprising Same, and Method for Operating an Internal Combustion Engine
An internal combustion engine has two cylinder banks, an electrical compressor, and at least one turbocharger, in which a first shut-off valve, which is arranged in the line leading from an e-compressor outlet to air-collecting devices of the cylinder banks, can at least release and block a throughflow through the line. A method operates the internal combustion engine, by which the internal combustion chamber is operated symmetrically or asymmetrically, depending on the engine speed.
Inline turbocharger arrangement and method
An internal combustion engine having an exhaust log structure onto which a plurality of turbochargers is connected, each turbocharger having a turbine connected to the exhaust log structure and having an inlet fluidly connectable to a respective one of the plurality of outlet ports, an exhaust valve disposed at a turbine outlet such that the flow of exhaust gas out of the turbine is fluidly blocked, and an actuator associated with the exhaust valve and operating to move the exhaust valve from a closed position to an open position and vice versa. An electronic controller provides a command to the actuator to move the exhaust valve between the open and closed positions and is programmed to selectively open two one or more exhaust valves based on an operating condition of the engine.

OUTBOARD MOTOR
An outboard motor (10) includes a V-engine (20) having a left bank (BL) and a right bank (BR) extending obliquely toward a rear left side and a rear right side, respectively, relative to a crankshaft (21) extending in a vertical direction. An intake device (18) is provided between the left bank and the right bank, and catalyst devices (62L, 62R) that treat exhaust gas are disposed rearward of cylinder heads (24L, 24R) of the left bank and the right bank.

Controlling One or More Intake Manifold Tuning Valves (IMTV) In An Internal Combustion Engine
An internal combustion engine has a variable intake manifold with one or more intake manifold tuning valves. Controlling the intake manifold tuning valve(s) involves determining an operating mode switching point of the intake manifold tuning valve(s). The operating mode switching point initiates opening and closing movements of the intake manifold tuning valve(s). The operating mode switching point is determined based in part or more upon temperature of intake air in the variable intake manifold.
Intake apparatus for internal combustion engine
This intake apparatus for an internal combustion engine having a first bank and a second bank includes: an intake pipe including one new-air intake pipe, two branched pipes, and a junction connecting the new-air intake pipe to the two branched pipes; an EGR gas pipe connected to the junction; and a partitioning member placed around an opening in the EGR gas pipe that opens toward the intake pipe. The partitioning member defines an EGR gas storage chamber. The EGR gas storage chamber has first-bank and second-bank flow passages in which the EGR gas flows toward the first bank and the second bank. The first and second effective cross-sectional areas in the first-bank flow passage and the second-bank flow passage are smaller than the flow passage cross-sectional area in the opening of the EGR gas pipe.
