The air relief passage (72) has an air outflow port (72a) formed through an inner wall surface of an upstream portion (71a) of the supercharging passage (71) upstream of the compressor (21). A projecting member (91) projecting radially inward of a specific portion (90) is provided on a portion of an inner wall surface of the specific portion (90) in a circumferential direction of the inner wall surface. The specific portion (90) ranges from a downstream portion of an upstream intake passage (32) to a portion of the supercharging passage (71) upstream of the air outflow port (72a).
Supercharger outlet resonator
A supercharger outlet resonator comprises a housing, a first surface comprising a first opening and a housing axis bisecting the first opening, and a second surface comprising a second opening, the second surface located parallel to the first surface. A channel is perpendicular to the housing axis and connects the first opening to the second opening. The channel comprises at least one sidewall. An envelope is fluidly separated from the channel by the at least one sidewall, the envelope at least partially surrounds the channel, and the envelope extends from the first surface to the second surface. The envelope comprises a third opening and at least one second sidewall. A noise-reducing material located on the housing.
Sound suppression apparatus
A sound suppression apparatus for installation inside a gas transport duct is provided. The sound suppression apparatus comprises a resistive sound-absorbing element (110) and a housing providing a reactive sound-attenuating element (130) communicating with a surrounding of the apparatus via opening in an outer surface of the housing. An outer surface of the sound suppression apparatus comprises an outer surface of the resistive sound-absorbing element and the outer surface of the housing. A gas transport duct comprising the sound suppression apparatus is also provided.
INTAKE SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An intake system of an internal combustion engine includes an intake pipe through which an intake passage extends, a throttle valve, and a baffle arranged at a downstream side of the throttle valve in the intake passage. The throttle valve includes a shaft, a first valve body configured to close a first region located at a first side, and a second valve body configured to close a second region located at a second side. When the throttle valve opens, the first valve body is pivoted toward an upstream side and the second valve body is pivoted toward a downstream side. The baffle includes a ring, a first net located at the first side of the ring, and a second net located at the second side of the ring. The first net occupies a larger region than the second net.
ENGINE AIR INTAKE DUCT WITH ORIFICE CAP AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
An engine air intake duct includes a duct wall and an orifice cap. The duct wall extends between an air inlet and an air outlet and has at least one orifice disposed therethrough. The duct wall has an integrally-formed closure mechanism adjacent the orifice. The orifice cap is moveable relative to and securable to the closure mechanism to substantially cover the orifice.
Acoustic device
Provided acoustic devices include an external housing defining an expansion chamber and a wall extending through and partitioning the expansion chamber into a central chamber and a peripheral chamber adjacent the central chamber, wherein an inlet and outlet communicate with the central chamber, and wherein the wall includes a plurality of apertures formed therethrough to allow air movement to and from the central and expansion chambers, the plurality of apertures sized to provide an average flow resistance ranging from 100 MKS Rayls to 5000 MKS Rayls. The acoustic devices advantageously show significant sound attenuation while streamlining air flow to reduce pressure drop across the expansion chamber.
ENGINE INTAKE AIR DUCT
An engine intake air duct 1 has an intake portion 10 that extends along a first center line A, and a main duct portion 20 that extends along a second center line B. The main duct portion 20 has a merging portion 50, a discharge opening 21, and an extending portion 40 that extends from the merging portion 50 towards an opposite end to the discharge opening 20. A reflecting wall 41 is provided at an end face of the extending portion 40. The intake portion 10 merges with the main duct portion 20 in such a way that the first center line A is directed towards a downstream end of the main duct portion 20.
AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY OF VEHICLE HAVING SUPPORTING MEMBERS
An air cleaner assembly includes an air cleaner body into which air flows from outside, an air cleaner cover which is fastened to the air cleaner body and from which the filtered air is exhausted, and an air filter installed between the air cleaner body and the air cleaner cover to filter foreign material, and which is installed at an intake pipe introducing air into an engine from outside, where a diffuser guiding the exhaust of the filtered air is installed at the air cleaner cover; and the supporting member, which supports an outside surface of the diffuser on the air cleaner body and the air cleaner cover and allows air to pass in a longitudinal direction of the diffuser, is installed at the air cleaner body and the air cleaner cover, respectively, thereby supporting the diffuser and tuning the intake sound by the air flowing therein.
