A turbocharger includes an acoustic damper for attenuating noise from the compressor. The damper includes inner and outer duct walls defining an annular cavity therebetween, the outer duct being longer than the inner duct. The downstream wall defines an outlet aperture for the fluid. Partition walls between the two ducts partition the annular cavity into at least a first Helmholtz resonator and a first quarter-wave resonator that are axially serially arranged, and a second quarter-wave resonator that is circumferential serially arranged with respect to the first Helmholtz resonator.

The partition members are ring shaped, and each space partition member is formed of a resilient material, and each space partition member has a contact portion formed by an inclined surface to be in contact with the inner surface of the cover body in a direction in which the insert body is inserted into the cover body.
Sound attenuation apparatus and methods
A sound attenuation apparatus includes a body and a stacked cavity structure. The structure includes a structure inlet formed in the top surface of the body; a passage extending from the structure inlet into the interior of the body to a base surface within the body; a first cavity with a first cavity inlet fluidly coupled to the passage and being formed by a first arm, a first side wall within the interior of the body, and the base surface; and a second cavity with a second cavity inlet fluidly coupled to the passage and being formed by a second arm, the first side wall, and the first arm. Each of the first and second arms extends from the first side wall and includes at least two arm segments oriented at different angles relative to the first side wall longitudinal axis.
Vehicular resonator
The present invention relates to a vehicular resonator comprising: an outer pipe that constitutes the exterior thereof; an inner pipe, a part of which is inserted into the outer pipe, and which has a slit formed therein as an air movement passage; a movable pipe configured to be able to move inside a resonation chamber formed between the outer pipe and the inner pipe; and an elastic body having one side thereof coupled to the inner pipe and the other side thereof coupled to the movable pipe, thereby providing the movable pipe with an elastic force such that the movable pipe can move.
Silencer for the Reduction of Gas Noise in an Intake System of a Combustion Engine and a Method for the Production of Such a Silencer
A silencer for reducing gas noise in a combustion engine intake system has a tubular casing with a first casing part and a second casing part connected to each other by a weld seam to form an outer casing wall, wherein the weld seam is a part of the outer casing wall. A third part for compensating gas noise is positioned inside the tubular casing. The third part is arranged in the tubular casing such that an annular cavity is formed by the third part and the outer casing wall. A weld flash protrudes from an inner surface of the outer casing wall into the annular cavity and is contained therein. The silencer is produced in a single welding process in which the first and second casing parts are connected to each other to form the outer casing wall and the third part is connected to the tubular casing.
Engine intake structure for vehicles
An engine intake structure comprises an intake passage member 18 which defines an intake passage 36 for supplying air to an internal combustion engine 12, and which also defines a resonator chamber 40 in communication with the intake passage 36; and an in-vehicle device 14 located in an engine room 10 of a vehicle and having a preset reference temperature for temperature control, the intake passage member 18 being located above and adjacent to the in-vehicle device 14. The intake passage 36 extends above the in-vehicle device 14 so as to at least partially overlap the resonator chamber 40 as viewed in a vertical direction, thereby forming a two-layer structure, which makes the in-vehicle device 14 less affected by ambient temperature in the upper part of the engine room 10.
