A vehicle fuel pump module includes a jet pump assembly and feed tube that delivers fuel to the assembly. The module includes a jet pump choke that is disposed in the jet pump assembly and provides a reduction of pressure of fluid within the jet pump assembly. The jet pump choke includes include a choke housing that defines a passageway that extends between a fluid inlet and outlet, and a slot that is formed in a surface of the passageway. A ball is fixed within and obstructs the passageway, and abuts the slot. A fluid path defined between the ball and surfaces of the slot provides fluid communication between the fluid inlet and outlet of the choke housing.

Vehicle fuel pump module including improved jet pump assembly

A vehicle fuel pump module includes a jet pump assembly and feed tube that delivers fuel to the assembly. The module includes, a first choke and a second choke. The first choke is disposed in the feed tube and provides filtering of the fluid and a reduction of pressure within the feed tube. The second choke is disposed in the jet pump assembly and provides a reduction of pressure of fluid within the jet pump assembly. The first and second chokes each include a choke housing that defines a passageway that extends between a fluid inlet and outlet, and a slot that is formed in a surface of the passageway. A ball is fixed within and obstructs the passageway, and abuts the slot. A fluid path defined between the ball and surfaces of the slot provides fluid communication between the fluid inlet and outlet of the choke housing.

Fuel Supply Device

A fuel supply device includes a sub-tank, a fuel pump, a transfer jet pump, a reduction valve, and a partition wall. The sub-tank is disposed within the fuel tank and forms a container configured to store fuel. The fuel pump is disposed in the sub-tank and is configured to pump fuel from the sub-tank. The transfer jet pump is configured to pump fuel from the fuel tank into the sub-tank. The reduction valve generates heat during operation. The partition wall divides an interior of the sub-tank into a first chamber and a second chamber. The fuel pump is disposed in the first chamber. Fuel passing through the reduction valve is discharged into the second chamber.

FUEL TANK

Provided is a fuel tank made of resin, including: a fuel tank body that is enclosed by a bottom wall, side walls, and an upper wall, the fuel tank body including a first storage portion, a second storage portion, and a coupling portion, the coupling portion communicating an upper portion of the first storage portion and an upper portion of the second storage portion; a pump module disposed in the first storage portion; an open portion formed in the first storage portion; a strut provided in the first storage portion; a separator provided on the strut; a suction portion disposed in the second storage portion; a fuel transfer line that communicates the suction portion to the pump module; a holding portion and a provisional holding portion provided at the separator, the provisional holding portion being configured to removably hold the extra-length portion of the fuel transfer line.

Fuel supply system for a road vehicle

A fuel supply system for a road vehicle and having: a fuel tank, which is shaped like saddle due to the presence of a central saddle and delimits an inner volume divided into an upper area, which is located above the central saddle, and two lower areas, which are located under the upper area and are separated from one another by the central saddle; two low-pressure fuel pumps, which each suck from the bottom of a corresponding lower area; at least one high-pressure fuel pump, which receives fuel from both low-pressure fuel pumps; a level sensor arranged in the upper area and configured to measure a fuel level only in the upper area; and two level sensors, each arranged in a respective lower area and configured to measure a fuel level only in the respective lower area.

Saddle fuel tank

Methods and systems are provided for a fuel tank mounted to a vehicle. Specifically, a saddle fuel tank comprising of a primary and secondary fuel compartment, each compartment having a module for mounting a fuel pump, fuel sensor and other accessories is disclosed. A first and second crimped opening formed on a top external wall and bottom internal wall, respectively of the saddle fuel tank may provide means for securely mounting a main and sub-side module to the fuel tank.

The fuel pump module includes a flange engaged to the fuel tank and a fuel pump assembly supported by the flange and disposed in the fuel chamber. The vapor pressure detection system includes a vapor pressure sensor attached to the flange, a vapor pressure inlet device disposed in the fuel chamber, and a conduit communicating between the vapor pressure inlet device and the vapor pressure sensor.

FUEL TANK HAVING ADDITIONAL RESERVE VOLUME

The present disclosure relates to a fuel tank having a module pot, which forms a first separate fuel reservoir for a fuel pump arranged inside the fuel tank. To prevent a gap in delivery of fuel to supply the first fuel reservoir in certain operating conditions, in particular when there is persistent lateral acceleration, according to the invention, a second separate fuel reservoir arranged separately from the first fuel reservoir inside the fuel tank is proposed, such that fuel is transferred from the second fuel reservoir into the first fuel reservoir at least when a predetermined acceleration level acting on the fuel tank is exceeded.
