A filter assembly includes a manifold having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, a filter housing having a filter medium provided therein, the filter medium defining an inner filter chamber and defining an outer filter chamber between the filter medium and the filter housing, the filter housing being removably attached to the manifold. The filter assembly includes a valve assembly mounted inside the manifold, and a by-pass channel defined inside the manifold between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The valve assembly includes a valve body, a by-pass valve system, and a shut off valve system. The by-pass valve system includes a by-pass valve piston having a piston body, and a by-pass valve spring arranged to move the by-pass valve piston. The shut off valve system includes a shut off valve piston, and a shut off valve spring arranged to move the shut off valve piston.

A no filter no run (NFNR) fluid filter and fluid filter assembly are provided. The NFNR fluid filter assembly includes a fluid filter, a filter head or filter housing, and a bypass flow path. The bypass flow path may be sealed off when a compliant filter is installed. When a non-compliant filter is installed (a filter without a bypass seal), fluid may flow to the bypass flow path.

The filter bowl is adapted to reversibly receive the filter element and is so configured that when the filter element is located within the filter bowl and the filter bowl attached to the connection element, the filter element divides the space defined by the connector element and filter bowl into an inlet filter chamber and an outlet filter chamber.

A filter device, having a filter housing (2) in which an exchangeable filter element (14) is accommodated, is characterized in that the filter element (14) has a securing device (58) that can be inserted axially into a receiving device (20) of the filter housing (2), in that, after a rotational motion has been performed, snap means (70) are used to snap the securing device (58) to the receiving device (20) in a snap position.

A filter device having a filter housing (1), in which a replaceable filter element (7) is accommodated and which has a cover part (2), wherein the element material (9) of the filter element (7) extends between two end caps (13, 14) of the latter, is characterized in that the filter housing (1), which is formed as an outlet pipe (3), extends between both end caps (13, 14) as well.
