A pump unit may include a pump configured to increase a pressure of diesel fuel and discharge the diesel fuel to a fuel passage in which a filter is disposed, and a controller configured to control an operation of the pump. The controller may be configured to execute freeze avoidance control in which the operation of the pump is controlled using an index that indicates a degree of clogging of the filter caused by the diesel fuel freezing. In the freeze avoidance control, the controller may be configured to apply a higher load to the pump as the degree of clogging of the filter indicated by the index is higher.

DIESEL FUEL FILTRATION AND FEED SYSTEM FOR GENERATOR

A fuel tank assembly for an electrical generator constructed with a double walled tank with side walls, a front wall mounted to the side walls, a rear wall mounted to the side walls, a bottom wall mounted to the side, front and rear walls and a top wall mounted to the side, front and rear walls. The side walls, front and rear wall and bottom wall are constructed with a spaced outer wall and an inner wall defining an enclosed central chamber adapted to receive diesel fuel; the inner bottom wall defining at least two angled sections extending inward into the central chamber toward the outer bottom wall. A skid assembly is mounted to the outer bottom wall to provide support for the fuel tank. A filtration assembly is mounted to the skid assembly and communicates with a central chamber of the tank and a microprocessor is mounted to the fuel tank, the microprocessor being connected to the sensors and the filtration assembly to receive data from the sensors and filtration assembly and transmit the data to a user.

Multilayer porous composite

A multilayer composite in which a nonwoven filter media layer is affixed to but separated from a hydrophobic microporous membrane such that the multilayer porous composite provides effective separation of water and particulate with substantial resistance to clogging in new fuels with low interfacial tensions.

Electronic Filter Detection Feature for Liquid Filtration Systems

A filter monitor system (FMS) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (ECM) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.

Fuel supply apparatus in construction machine

A fuel supply apparatus able to stop actuating of a fuel supply pump when the fuel supply is stopped or becomes slow, includes a control section which calculates an amount of the fuel in the fuel tank based upon a signal from a fuel gauge, and outputs the result to a fuel meter. The control section also calculates from the fuel gauge signal the amount of the fuel supplied into the fuel tank per unit of time, and if the amount of the fuel supplied per unit of time is determined to be less than a set supply rate, the fuel supply pump is stopped so that a malfunction of the fuel supply can be detected without mounting a special fuel supply sensor.

FILTRATION MONITORING SYSTEMS

A filtration monitoring system is an electronic system control module installed on an internal combustion engine or within a vehicle powered by the internal combustion engine. The filtration monitoring system monitors the health and status of the filtration systems present on the engine. The filtration monitoring system tracks filter loading patterns and predicts remaining service life of the filters by running smart algorithms based on sensor feedback (e.g., pressure sensor feedback, fluid quality characteristic sensor feedback, etc.). In some arrangements, the described filtration monitoring systems provide feedback as to whether a genuine (i.e., authorized, OEM approved, etc.) or unauthorized filter cartridge is installed in a given filtration system. The filtration monitoring system may be retrofit into an existing internal combustion engine or vehicle that does not already have a filtration monitoring system.
