FUEL TANK CLEANING ARRANGEMENT
In a tank cleaning arrangement for cleaning liquid fuel stored in a fuel tank, the fuel is circulated from various selectable outlet areas to various selectable inlet areas provided on the tank via a conduit system including circulating pumps and filters arranged at various locations. At least one circulating pump is driven mechanically by an engine associated with the tank cleaning arrangement, whereby the tank cleaning arrangement is shut down automatically when the engine is shut down, so that a control as well as a separate drive system for the at least one circulating pump can be omitted. Also a combustion engine with such tank cleaning system is and an operating method for the tank cleaning arrangement are disclosed.
Filter adapter for a fuel injector
A filter adapter for a fuel injector is disclosed. The filter adapter may have a filter housing. The filter housing may have a first connection end and a second connection end. The filter housing may also have a through bore extending through the filter housing between the first connection end and the second connection end and forming a filter cavity. The filter adapter may also have a first filter positioned in the filter cavity and including a first plurality of openings and a second filter positioned in the filter cavity and including a second plurality of openings. The first connection end may have a first connector configured to mate with a fuel outlet of a first fuel system component. The second connection end may have a second connector configured to mate with a fuel inlet of a second fuel system component.
Fuel-filter malfunction detection device
A fuel-filter malfunction detection device detects a clogging of a fuel filter when specified conditions are satisfied. In a clogging detection, a command discharge quantity to a high-pressure pump is increased more than a total of a fuel injection quantity and a leakage of the fuel supply system while a pressure-reducing valve is closed. When the fuel filter is clogged, a discharge quantity of the high-pressure pump is decreased relative to the command discharge quantity and a differential pressure is generated between an estimated common-rail pressure and an actual common-rail pressure. When an integrated moving average of the averages of the differential pressure is greater than or equal to a specified value, an ECU determines that the fuel filter has a malfunction. Then, a malfunction flag is turned ON.
ELECTRONIC FILTER DETECTION FEATURE FOR LIQUID FILTRATION SYSTEMS
A filter monitor system (FMS) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (ECM) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.
FUEL SYSTEM HAVING FILTER ASSEMBLY WITH VALVE COVER
A filter assembly is disclosed for use with a fuel system. The filter assembly may have a base with a first side, and a second side opposite the first side. The filter assembly may also have a filter extending from the first side of the base, a valve extending from the second side of the base, and a metallic cover having a closed end surrounding the valve and an open end located adjacent the second side of the base. The filter assembly may further have a seal sandwiched between the metallic cover and the base, a retainer connected to the base and extending over the metallic cover, and a fastener threadingly engaged with the retainer and protruding inward to press the metallic cover toward the base.

The second connection end may have a second connector configured to mate with a fuel inlet of a second fuel system component.
FUEL CIRCUIT FOR AN APPARATUS, ASSOCIATED APPARATUS AND METHOD
This fuel circuit has a pumping device with a low-pressure stage and a high-pressure stage. The fuel circuit is configured to supply, at high-pressure, fuel collected from a fuel tank to injectors of an engine. A low-pressure circuit and a high-pressure circuit are included. A fuel filter, is arranged between an outlet of the low-pressure stage and an intake of the high-pressure stage. V fist pressure sensor is arranged upstream from the fuel filter, and a second pressure sensor is arranged between the fuel filter and the intake of the high-pressure stage.
