The present invention includes a valve seat and a valve body that cooperatively open/close a fuel passage, a movable element having the valve body provided at one end part thereof and a movable iron core 27a provided at the other end part thereof, a fixed iron core 25 which faces the movable iron core 27a and which attracts the movable iron core 27a by applying a magnetic attraction force thereto, and a cylindrical member that includes thereinside the fixed iron core 25 and the movable iron core 27a. The fixed iron core 25 includes a reduced-diameter part 25m on an outer circumferential surface at the side facing the movable iron core 27a, and the movable iron core 27a includes a reduced-diameter part 27am on an outer circumferential surface at the side facing the fixed iron core 25.

The present invention includes a bobbin having a winding part around which a coil winding is wound, a terminal extending from the bobbin in the axial direction of the bobbin, and a wrapping part which is provided to the terminal and in which a terminal lead wire pulled out from a coil part that is wound around the winding part is wrapped and fused. The terminal lead wire wired between the bobbin and the wrapping part in a state of being in contact with the surface of the terminal. The peripheries of the bobbin, the wiring part of the terminal lead wire and the wrapping part are covered with resin.

The base body has a side wall defining a recess extending from a fluid inlet side to a fluid outlet side of the base body. The side wall has a thin portion having a decreased wall thickness relative to further portions of the side wall that adjoin the thin portion along the longitudinal direction towards the fluid inlet side and the fluid outlet side. The valve body includes a metallic reinforcement jacket that is rigidly coupled to the base body and which axially overlaps the thin portion having the decreased wall thickness.

In a fuel injection valve, a bobbin includes a bobbin main body serving as a part around which a coil is wound, and a terminal housing portion projecting upward from a part of a circumferential direction of the bobbin main body. The terminal housing portion is exposed to the exterior of a cap. A terminal is inserted into the terminal housing portion and electrically connected to the coil. A gap is provided between the core and a housing portion inner surface serving as a core side surface of the terminal housing portion. Resin used to form the connector mold penetrates the gap.

The fuel injector also includes an actuator including an armature and a pole piece, the armature being axially movable and operable to interact mechanically with the needle, such that the needle is moved towards the open position by a movement of the armature in axial direction towards the pole piece. The fuel injector also includes a first spring for biasing the armature in axial direction away from the pole piece. The spring force of the first spring is configured to stop said movement of the armature when the needle is in the open position.
