Systems and methods for fuel injection
Methods and systems are provided for delivering fuel to a port injector fuel rail in a port fuel direct injection (PFDI) engine. In one example, the port injector fuel rail may receive fuel from each of a compression chamber and a step chamber of a direct injection fuel pump coupled in the PFDI engine. In this way, pressurized fuel may be supplied to the port injector fuel rail during an entire cycle of the direct injection fuel pump.

The present disclosure relates to a device for a high-pressure pump for a motor vehicle comprising a valve housing and an actuator assembly arranged substantially along the central axis of the valve housing. The actuator assembly may include a recess extending from a first end. The actuator assembly may include at least one hydraulic compensation opening extending through a wall of the actuator assembly from the recess into an exterior region. It may also include a volume body in the actuator recess spaced apart from the actuator assembly and extending into a region of the at least one hydraulic compensation opening. The volume body may be immovable relative to the valve housing. The actuator assembly may move along the central axis relative to the valve housing and relative to the volume body.
Methods and systems for diagnosing a valve
Various methods and systems are provided for health assessments of a fuel system. In one example, a method for an inlet metering valve (IMV) includes reducing electrical driving of the IMV, monitoring a response time of the IMV in real-time responsive to the reducing, and determining if the IMV is degraded based on a response of IMV current over a duration, the duration beginning after an initial decrease in current caused by the reducing.
HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP
A high-pressure pump has a metering valve and a valve stopper. The stopper has a regulation portion which an end surface of the valve is brought into contact with. An outer diameter of the regulation portion is equal to an outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface of the valve. A cylindrical sleeve is disposed around the regulation portion. When the end surface of the valve is in contact with the regulation portion, the sleeve covers a tapered surface of the valve.
DUAL RAIL PRESSURE CONTROL FOR ENGINE NOISE IMPROVEMENT
A method is provided for controlling operation of a fueling system including a fuel pump driven by an engine geartrain and a fuel accumulator supplied fuel by the fuel pump, comprising: determining whether an operating parameter of the engine is less than a threshold value; responding to the operating parameter being less than the threshold value by causing an inlet valve of the fuel pump to operate in a 100 percent fill mode, whereby a pumping chamber in the fuel pump is approximately fully filled for at least one pumping cycle; determining whether a fuel pressure in the fuel accumulator is greater than a desired value while the inlet valve is in the 100 percent fill mode; and responding to the fuel pressure being greater than the desired value by activating an outlet valve of the fuel accumulator to drain fuel in the fuel accumulator to a fuel tank.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A metering valve supplies fuel to and block fuel from a pressurizing chamber by moving a valve body by switching between energization and de-energization of an electromagnetic unit. An energization control unit performs a valve closing control and a valve opening control to reduce operating sound in one opening and closing period in which the valve body opens and closes. A time control unit controls, on determination that the energizing period of the electromagnetic unit exceeds the upper limit value, a moving speed of the valve body when the valve body moves to a valve closing side, such that the energization period of the electromagnetic unit in the one opening and closing period does not exceed the upper limit value, thereby to cause the energization control unit to perform both the valve closing control and the valve opening control in the one opening and closing period.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DIAGNOSING A VALVE

High-pressure pump in a high-pressure injection system of a vehicle
Various embodiments include methods for operating a high-pressure pump comprising: driving a piston arranged in a compression chamber with a motor shaft; during movement of the piston toward the top dead center, closing the inlet valve so the fluid is then delivered by the piston through an outlet valve; applying a coil current to an electromagnet used to close the inlet valve during and/or after overshooting the top dead center; detecting a start time at which the coil current, on account of starting of an opening movement of the inlet valve, fulfills a predetermined change criterion; labelling a dead center rotation position of the motor shaft at which the piston is at the top dead center based at least in part on the ascertained start time; and adjusting operation of the pump based on the identified dead center rotation position.
High-pressure pump
A high-pressure pump has a metering valve and a valve stopper. The stopper has a regulation portion which an end surface of the valve is brought into contact with. An outer diameter of the regulation portion is equal to an outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface of the valve. A cylindrical sleeve is disposed around the regulation portion. When the end surface of the valve is in contact with the regulation portion, the sleeve covers a tapered surface of the valve.
FUEL PUMP DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A pump inlet valve includes a valve body and a plunger assembly. The valve body includes a valve body cavity. The plunger assembly is arranged within the valve body cavity and includes a plunger body, a plunger barrel formed at the plunger body so as to form a plunger barrel volume, and a plunger. The plunger is configured to move within the plunger barrel to thereby allow a fluid to flow past the plunger assembly when the plunger is in an open position and to inhibit the fluid from flowing past the plunger assembly when the plunger is in a closed position. The plunger is configured to allow continuous fluid communication between the plunger barrel volume and a supply inlet, through which fluid is supplied to the pump inlet valve.
