FUEL INJECTION VALVE

Disclosed is a fuel injection valve in which a movable core and a fixed core are enclosed in a cylindrical body. The cylindrical body has an annular groove formed therein, on an outer circumferential side of a region in which the movable core and the fixed core are opposed to each other, to define a thin portion of small wall thickness. In a cross section taken along a center axis of the fuel injection valve, the thin portion has curved line sections on both end sides thereof in a direction along the center axis such that the curved line sections respectively connect a bottom of the annular groove to side edges of the annular groove by curved lines. The curved line sections are provided over a range of larger dimension, from the respective side edges in the direction along the center axis, than a depth dimension of the annular groove.

Valve assembly for an injection valve and injection valve

The present disclosure relates to valves. Some embodiments may include solenoid injection valves with a valve body; a valve needle with a needle shaft, an upper retaining element, and a lower retaining element; an electro-magnetic actuator comprising a pole piece and an armature spaced from the pole piece by a first axial gap when de-energized. The armature slides on the valve needle between the upper retaining element and the lower retaining element. The valve may include a calibration spring and a spring element arranged between the armature and the upper retaining element. The armature compresses the spring element and travels at least 50% of the first axial gap before an opening force of the valve assembly becomes larger than a total needle closing force. An opening force for displacing the valve needle away from the closing position is transferred from the armature to the valve needle completely through the spring element and a second axial gap between the armature and the upper retaining element is maintained throughout the operation of the valve assembly.

An injection hole body has multiple injection holes for injecting fuel. A valve body is unseated from and seated on a seating surface of the injection hole body. The injection hole body and the valve body form a specific space therebetween to communicate with inflow ports of the injection holes. A virtual region is surrounded by multiple straight lines. The straight lines connect portions of peripheral edges of the inflow ports, which are closest to a center axis of the valve body in the radial direction. A center volume is formed by extending the virtual region from the injection hole body toward the valve body along the center axis. A total injection hole volume is a total volume of the injection holes. The total injection hole volume is larger than the center volume in a state where the valve body is seated on the seating surface.
