In addition, the fuel injection valve has a control chamber which is divided by means of a control valve into a first and a second control chamber. The control valve in turn has a valve guide and a valve insert, wherein an outflow throttle which connects the first control chamber to the second control chamber is arranged in the valve guide. According to the invention, the connection which is formed by way of the outflow throttle between the first control chamber and the second control chamber can be interrupted temporarily in a targeted manner.
FUEL PUMP AND OUTLET VALVE THEREOF
An outlet valve includes an outlet valve housing with an outlet valve bore including an outlet valve seating surface. The outlet valve also includes an outlet valve member which moves within the outlet valve bore second portion between a closed position and an open position. A surface of the outlet valve bore guides the outlet valve member during movement between the closed position and the open position. The surface of the outlet valve bore and the outlet valve seating surface are provided on a continuous piece of material of the outlet valve housing. An outlet valve spring biases the outlet valve member toward the closed position and a retainer is fixed to the outlet valve housing which grounds the outlet valve spring to the outlet valve housing.
Fuel pump having improved pumping behavior
The present invention relates to a fuel pump for pumping fuel, comprising a piston (2) and a diaphragm seal element (3), which seals on an inner annular seal seat (4) and an outer annular seal seat (5), wherein the following equation is satisfied: (Ra.sup.2ra.sup.2)/(ri+L).sup.2=ra/ri, where ri is the inner radius of the inner seal seat (4), ra is the inner radius of the outer seal seat (5), Ra is the outer diameter of the piston (2) and L is a difference between an outer radius (Ria) of the inner seal seat (4) and the inner radius (ri) of the inner seal seat (4). The invention further relates to a method for operating a fuel pump.
FUEL INJECTOR ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to a fuel injector arrangement (1) comprising a number of fluid supply paths (29, 31, 39), namely, a first (29), a second (31) and a third fluid supply path (39). The fuel injector arrangement (1) has a first switching device (43) in the second fluid supply path (31). Said first switching device, controlled by the fluid pressure in the third fluid supply path (39), opens or blocks the second fluid supply path (31). The fuel injector arrangement (1) has a second switching device (49) in the first fluid supply path (29). Said second switching device, controlled by the fluid pressure downstream of the first switching device (43) in the second fluid supply path (31), opens or blocks the first fluid supply path (29).
Fuel injector body with counterbore insert
An insert for use with a fuel injector comprises a shaft including a substantially cylindrical configuration defining a shaft cylindrical axis, a shaft radial direction, and a shaft diameter; and a head including a substantially cylindrical configuration defining a head cylindrical axis, a head radial direction, and a head diameter. The shaft and head may be attached to each other, the shaft cylindrical axis and the head cylindrical axis may be parallel to each other, the head diameter may be greater than the shaft diameter, and the shaft cylindrical axis may be spaced away from the head cylindrical axis.
FUEL PUMP AND INLET VALVE ASSEMBLY THEREOF
A fuel pump includes a fuel pump housing with a pumping chamber; a pumping plunger which reciprocates within a plunger bore; and an inlet valve. The inlet valve includes a valve body having a valve body bore; an inlet passage; and an outlet passage. The inlet valve also includes a check valve which moves between a seated position and an unseated position, wherein the seated position prevents flow through the outlet passage into the valve body bore and the unseated position permits flow through the outlet passage such that the valve body bore is in fluid communication with the pumping chamber. The inlet valve also includes a valve spool which moves between a first position where the valve spool maintains the check valve member in the unseated position and a second position where the check valve member is able to move to the seated position.
FUEL INJECTION VALVE AND FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
In a fuel injection valve, a movable structure includes: a movable core that includes a first attractive surface and a second attractive surface, which are configured to be attracted toward at least one stationary core when a coil is energized; and an elongated shaft member that has a length, which is measured in a moving direction of the movable structure and is larger than a length of the movable core, which is measured in the moving direction. A modulus of longitudinal elasticity of the elongated shaft member is larger than a modulus of longitudinal elasticity of the movable core.
FUEL INJECTION VALVE
A fuel injection valve includes: a coil; a stationary core to generate a magnetic force; a movable structure including a moving core and a valve body and internally having a movable flow passage; and a body that internally accommodates the movable structure and internally has a part of the flow passage. The movable structure includes a throttle portion at which a passage area of the movable flow passage is partially throttled. The flow passage includes a throttle flow passage defined by the throttle portion and a separate flow passage between the movable structure and the body. A passage area of the separate flow passage is smaller than a passage area of the throttle flow passage. A position of the separate flow passage in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the movable structure is different from an outermost peripheral position of the moving core.
High-pressure fuel pump for a fuel system for an internal combustion engine
A high-pressure fuel pump for a fuel delivery system of an internal combustion engine includes a pressure limiting valve positioned between an outlet and an inlet of the pump. The valve includes a spring-loaded closing element and a closing body that radially holds the closing element in place, and that has a concave receiving portion configured to at least partially receive the closing element. The receiving portion has a radially outer first area with a first opening angle, and a radially inner second area with a second opening angle larger than the first opening angle. The first area and the second area are located outside of a contact region between the closing element and the closing body.
