Valve device for switching or metering a fluid

A valve device for switching or metering a fluid includes a housing, a flow channel defined by the housing, and a valve body arranged in the flow channel. The valve body has a sealing section which contacts a housing-side sealing seat when the valve device is closed. The sealing section at least slightly protrudes beyond a surface of the valve body facing the sealing seat.

Solenoid valve

A solenoid valve includes a valve housing having a first space that communicates with an inlet flow path and a second space that communicates with an outlet flow path. A solenoid is provided in the valve housing to surround the first space. A flow path guide is provided in the first space and has an inflow path communicating with the first space. A plunger is rectilinearly moved in the flow path guide by the solenoid. A valve member is connected to the plunger and opens or closes the outlet flow path based on a plunger movement. A spring member provides elastic force allowing the valve member to move in a direction in which the valve member blocks the outlet flow path. A fluid guide part is formed in the plunger and guides a fluid, supplied into the inflow path via the first space, selectively to the second space.

A first member has a plated layer. A second member is pressed against the plated layer and causes a tensile stress in the first member. A breakage probability is a probability of breakage of the plated layer caused by the tensile stress. A characteristic line represents a relationship between an elastic modulus of the plated layer and the breakage probability. A characteristic slope of the characteristic line is a ratio of an increase in the breakage probability to a decrease in the elastic modulus. A characteristic change point appears on the characteristic line at which the elastic slope increases to exceed a predetermined slope as the elastic modulus gradually decreases. A characteristic change elastic modulus is the elastic modulus at the characteristic change point. The plated layer contains at least a chromium component and has the elastic modulus larger than the characteristic change elastic modulus.

TRAPPED VOLUME SPLIT CHECK ASSEMBLY IN FUEL INJECTOR

A fuel system includes a fuel injector having a split check assembly with a control piece, an outlet piece, and a check sleeve. A trapped volume is formed between the control piece and the outlet piece within the check sleeve, to hydraulically couple the control piece to the outlet piece. A starting rate shape clearance fluidly connects the trapped volume to a fuel cavity and is formed between the check sleeve and one of the control piece or outlet piece received therein, and modulates a starting rate shape of fuel injection from the fuel injector. Related methodology is disclosed.

The present disclosure relates to a hydrocarbon dosing system to control dosing of diesel fuel into an exhaust upstream of a vehicle's oxidation catalyst (VOC). The system 100 includes separate inlets (102,104) to allow inflow of a first fluid and the second fluid into the system, and an outlet 116. The first fluid configured to facilitate purging of the second fluid into the VOC through the outlet 116. The system 100 incorporates multiple valves (106, 108, 112) and pressure sensor 114 to control dosing and purging of the fluids. The system 100 provides an intrinsic non-return valve mechanism to restrict the flow of the first fluid into a fluid path of the second fluid, and vice versa. The system 100 provides intrinsic pressure relief mechanism for controlled release of pressure from system 100. The system 100 includes additional optional check valves 208 and filter screens 206 for redundancy purposes.

Fuel sending unit assembly and operation

A fuel pump, is disclosed, including a power group having a housing, a coil, a pole piece and a movable armature; a valve group including a valve body, a plunger connected to the armature, a bushing in which the plunger is disposed, an inlet chamber, an outlet chamber, a pump chamber, an inlet valve disposed between the inlet chamber and the pump chamber and an outlet valve disposed between the pump chamber and the outlet valve; and an inlet filter coupled to a fluid inlet of the valve group. The inlet filter is disposed relative to the coil such that when the fuel pump is disposed within a fuel tank, a bottom of the inlet filter as oriented in the fuel tank is disposed above a fuel level in the fuel tank and the coil is at least partly submerged in the fuel.
