Drinking straw with internal coating
A drinking straw comprising an elongate tubular body of an insoluble material having an internal coating comprising a matrix containing an active agent dispersed within the matrix, the body sized to allow a carrier liquid to be drawn therethrough such that passage of the carrier liquid causes the matrix to release the active agent into the carrier liquid to be consumed by a drinker. The matrix comprises partially hydrolysed guar gum, possibly in combination with an acid and/or modified cellulose. The active agent includes sweetener, flavour, a nutrient and/or a pharmaceutical and optionally colour. The coating is prepared by mixing the matrix with water to form a paste or syrup and is then used to coat the inside surface of a drinking straw to a thickness of less than 1 mm. Liquid drawn through the straw dissolves or breaks down the coating, releasing the active agent into the liquid for consumption.

FLEECE FOR POUCHED PRODUCT WITH CONTROLLED BASIS WEIGHT
The disclosure provides oral pouched products including a fleece material with a controlled basis weight. In some embodiments, the oral pouched products may include a material within a porous pouch, wherein the porous pouch includes a fleece material having a basis weight of at least about 35 gsm. In some embodiments, the oral pouched products may include fleece materials have a thickness of at least about 0.2 mm or less than about 0.1 mm. In some embodiments, the pouched products may be configured for rapid or extended release of components contained therein or may be tailored to provide a desired release profile.

A composition comprising a whole grain with hydrolyzed starch. Although the starch can shift from relatively higher molecular weight moieties to relatively lower molecular weight moieties during hydrolysis, the relative proportions of the principal anatomical components of the caryopses of the grain—the starchy endosperm, germ and bran—remain approximately the same as evinced, for example, by the weight percentages and relative mass ratios of starch, fat, protein, dietary fiber, beta-glucan, and sugar in the composition. Additionally, the whole grain composition can be a powder, for example, a flour, and the whole grain composition can be granulated to a desired size to provide a powder that is highly dispersible in liquid. When gelatinized, hydrated and dispersed in a liquid, the whole grain with hydrolyzed starch can have a lower viscosity, grittiness, and graininess compared to the same variety of whole grain with unhydrolyzed starch.

The food product may include a set of separately enclosed different fillings and each edible enclosing tube may be shaped around the filling storage tube to give a cross-sectional form of a circle sector so that the set forms a right circular cylinder. A seepage container assists assembly in advance of an order to avoid impairment by moisture seeping out of fillings.
