SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TIDAL ENERGY CONVERSION AND ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATION USING A ROTATABLE DRAG PANEL
20180313322 · 2018-11-01 ·

Assemblies, systems, and methods are disclosed for generating energy from natural and renewable forces and, more particularly, to energy generation using tidal action. A tidal energy conversion assembly includes a displacement vessel coupled via an anchor cable to a directional converter and an electrical power generator on land. The displacement vessel includes a horizontally rotatable drag panel extending into the water to capture drag forces caused by the flow of water. The flow of water against the drag panel causes the displacement vessel to move laterally and pull on the anchor cable thus exerting a force on the directional converter. The directional converter converts this force into rotational energy that may be harnessed by the electrical power generator to generate electricity for consumption. The horizontally rotatable drag panel may be rotated to adjust the amount of electrical energy produced.

WATER TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND METHOD UTILIZING TIDAL POWER
20180230962 · 2018-08-16 ·

An apparatus for transporting water is described. The apparatus includes a large number of identical units that contain fresh water, for example, and which float on the sea. The units are alternately controlled to rise and fall with a first tide and to remain at low tide during the next tide. This motion, along with valves to allow fresh water to flow in one direction only, provide a water transport system that operates using tidal power.

Electrical Generation System
20180128245 · 2018-05-10 ·

An electrical generation system includes a plurality of wind generators. Each of the wind generators extends upwardly out of a body of water. Each of the wind generators is rotated by wind thereby facilitating each of the wind generators to generate electricity. A platform is slidably coupled to each of the wind generators. The platform travels upwardly and downwardly along the wind generator when the body of water raises and lowers. A plurality of motion units is operationally coupled between an associated one of the wind generator and the platform. Each of the motion units converts the upward and downward motion of the platform into electrical energy. A plurality of solar cells is coupled to the platform to convert sunlight into electricity.

Ocean Tide Pump For Green Energy Extraction
20240426270 · 2024-12-26 ·

This proposed invention is basically a modified plunger pump designed to harness the pawer of the ocean, in particular the movement of the tide. The really cool pard is that it uses the water to float the weight to the surface something so powerful that we use the same method to get goods across the ocean. The device lets the ocean lift the weight where it is then suspended so the force of gravity can power the pump, which in this case is then used to power a turbine to produce electricity.

A driveshaft, including a first segment, including a first end, a second end, a first through-bore extending from the first end to the second end, and a first protrusion extending axially from the second end, and a second segment, including a third end including a first notch, and a fourth end, and a first hole extending from the third end and aligned with the first through-bore, wherein the first protrusion engages the first notch to non-rotatably connect the first segment and the second segment.

Oscillating water column turbine apparatuses
12163499 · 2024-12-10 ·

An apparatus for generating electricity from an oscillating water column may include a turbine having an inlet cap, an outlet cap, and an impeller rotatably disposed between the inlet cap and the outlet cap. The turbine may be deployed in a water cylinder having a water piston that slides between a first position and a second position in response to oscillation of water in the water cylinder, thereby creating a pressure difference to allow pressurized fluid to enter and/or escape through the components of the turbine to rotate the impeller of the turbine to facilitate generation of electricity and/or performance of other work. Other oscillating water column turbine apparatuses are also disclosed.

Docked Boats/Ships Harvest Energy from Tides
20170211541 · 2017-07-27 ·

An energy producing device which employs the effect of tides on docked boats to create power, by means of compressing and extending a bag tank located below the docked boat. This system will produce energy as the bag is compressed and extended. Including at least one non-permeable bag with its base staked in place on the ocean floor. The bag tank will have a rigid frame above it, which is pulled tight to the bottom of a docked boat with lines and is connected by elastic fabric or cord to the bag tank. A tube that works as a depth gage and guides a T handled rod with an end that can operate a hatch control. Floats and lines to secure and keep the rigid frame and bag tank up in times when the boat is out of the harbor. Through fittings at the bottom of the tank connected to plumbing, which is connected to a hydro generator and waste pipe which also works as an inlet when the bag tank is extending.

GENERATOR FOR CONVERTING TIDAL FLUCTUATION TO ELECTRICAL ENERGY
20170204578 · 2017-07-20 ·

A generator for converting tidal fluctuation to electrical energy is provided. The generator includes at least a first energy transfer mechanism. The first energy transfer mechanism includes a weight that is floatable in water. The first energy transfer mechanism further includes a first driver gear and a coupling rod connecting the weight to the first driver gear. The coupling rod rotates the first driver gear when the weight rises or lowers while floating on the water. Therefore, linear vertical motion of the tides is converted into rotational motion. A rotor is rotated by the first driver gear when the first driver gear is rotated by the coupling rod.
