A load is calculated and superposed for a new sector obtained from the sector reconstruction. An optimization algorithm is applied, under a condition that a constraint condition of a fatigue load is met, to find an operation parameter for maximum power generation amount of the wind turbine.

A method is described for the early identification of material fatigue in drive train components of a wind turbine installation.

In particular, a signal, representing revolutions per minute of a wind turbine shaft, is obtained and modulated by the azimuth angle measurement of the turbine blade. This signal is band passed at twice the frequency of rotation and Fourier transformed to extract amplitude values. An alert response can then be triggered when it is determined that there has been a change in a characteristic of the amplitude values such as the amplitude values increasing beyond a multiple of a determined baseline amplitude value.

A method of operating a wind turbine. The wind turbine is operated over an operating period in accordance with a control strategy. A sensor signal is received over the operating period from a sensor measuring an operational parameter of the turbine. A model is used to obtain a modelled fatigue value based on the sensor signal. The modelled fatigue value provides an estimate of fatigue loading applied to a component of the turbine over the operating period. The control strategy is modified based on the modelled fatigue value.

The invention relates to a method for determining power set points of a power plant comprising a plurality of power generating units with at least one wind turbine generator. The determination of the power set points are based on a prioritization of the power generating units, where the power generating units are prioritized with respect to individual power levels or fatigue levels obtained for the power generating units. The prioritization is adjusted so that the adjusted prioritization depends both on the power and fatigue levels.
