ROUND BALER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A ROUND BALER

A round baler and a method for operating a round baler are disclosed. The round baler has a variable diameter and is bounded by an endlessly rotating pressing means. The pressing means is guided by a plurality of rollers, wherein a loop of the pressing means is guided by a first clamping arm mounted on the housing side and by a second clamping arm mounted on the housing side. The first and second clamping arms are adjusted by actuators so that at least one compaction pressure is generated with which the pressing means acts to form a round bale. A control unit automatically controls the actuators depending on a compaction power curve, accounting for operating parameters and/or environmental parameters of the round baler, thereby maintaining a substantially stable operating point during the shaping process, in which the required compaction power and the available drive power are substantially equal.

ROUND BALER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A ROUND BALER

A method for operating a round baler and a round baler are disclosed. The round baler has a baling chamber having a variable diameter and is bounded by a rotating pressing means. The pressing means is driven and/or guided by rollers, wherein some of the rollers are adjusted by a first and second clamping arms, each of which are pivotably mounted on the housing side. The first and second clamping arms are adjusted by actuators so that a compaction pressure is generated with which the pressing means acts to form a round bale. To regulate the compaction pressure, a pressure relief valve is given an adjustable limit pressure value to transition from a closed position into an open position. The limit pressure value lies above a pressure value which corresponds to a target pressing means tension to achieve the compaction pressure.

BALER SYSTEM AND A METHOD OF OPERATING THE BALER SYSTEM

A combination of a tractor and a baler includes a tractor control unit and a baler control unit. A driving speed of the tractor can be set and/or adjusted with the tractor control unit. The baler includes a bale sensor in order to sense the size of a bale in a baling chamber. The baler control unit is connected to the bale sensor and to the tractor control unit to send a stop signal to the tractor control unit when the bale signal of the bale sensor indicates that a bale has reached a size which is greater than or equal to a first predetermined size. The tractor control unit controls the tractor to initiate a braking operation for stopping the tractor and to adapt a driving rotational speed of the drive shaft of the baler when the tractor control unit receives the stop signal from the baler control unit.

A method for operating a baler system including a combination of a tractor and a baler implement includes generating an adaptation signal with an input and output unit and sending the adaptation signal to a tractor control unit. The tractor control unit adapts a driving rotational speed of the drive shaft of the baler implement when the tractor control unit receives the adaptation signal.

Baler system with preservative monitoring

A baler system is operable to determine an initial quantity of a preservative stored in a tank and define an application rate of the preservative to be applied per bale during a harvest operation. A number of bales to be formed during the harvest operation may be estimated, and a determination made on whether or not the initial quantity of the preservative at the defined application rate is sufficient to treat the estimated number of bales to be formed during the harvest operation. When a controller determines that the initial quantity of the preservative is not sufficient to treat the estimated number of bales to be formed during the harvest operation, the controller may send a notification to a system manager requesting additional preservative be delivered to the baler implement. The status of the preservative may be continuously monitored and updated throughout the harvest operation.

Continuous round baler accumulation chamber

An apparatus for continuously forming round bales of forage material, and particularly round bales with compressed side walls, from windrowed harvested lines of forage, the apparatus including a continuous pickup, a continuous rotary chopper, an accumulation chamber with a compressed and chopped forage material entry slot and a decompressing exit slot plus a standard form intermittent round baler.

A baler includes a housing forming a baling chamber. The baling chamber includes an inlet defining an inlet width. The inlet width extends substantially across the baling chamber, between a first lateral side and a second lateral side. A crop distributor defines a distributor width and includes a forward end and a rearward end. The distributor width is substantially less than the inlet width. One of the baling chamber and the crop distributor is moveable relative to the other of the baling chamber and the crop distributor, such that the rearward end of the crop distributor is laterally moveable, relative to the inlet of the baling chamber, between the first lateral side and the second lateral side. Lateral movement of the rearward end of the crop distributor relative to the baling chamber distributes the cut crop material across the inlet width of the baling chamber.

A method is carried-out by a controller architecture coupled to a beam assembly actuator, which is included in an articulating tongue arrangement connecting an agricultural implement to a tow vehicle. In an embodiment, the method includes: (i) monitoring, via the controller architecture, an effective tow length of an articulating beam assembly further included in the articulating tongue arrangement, the effective tow length measured along a straight line extending from a leading pivot joint of the articulating tongue arrangement to a trailing pivot joint of the articulating tongue arrangement; (ii) determining, at the controller architecture, an effective tow length target of the articulating tongue arrangement based upon operator input, sensor input, or a combination thereof; and (iii) transmitting commands from the controller architecture to the beam assembly actuator to maintain the effective tow length of the articulating beam assembly in conformance with the effective tow length target.
