The pump set comprises a cassette body comprising a stator member with a fixed portion secured to the cassette body, a second portion opposite the fixed portion, a reaction surface and a second surface opposite the reaction surface, the reaction surface defined between the fixed portion and the second portion, and a tube secured to the cassette body, at least a portion of the tube is disposed against the reaction surface.
Methods and apparatus for generating droplets
Methods and apparatus for generating droplets are disclosed. In one arrangement a peristaltic screw pump is configured to drive pulsatile flows of fluids in different conduits which are phased relative to each other such that a sequence of droplets are formed at a junction downstream from the pump.
Fluid pump with pulse reduction
This specification describes technologies relating to a pump for dispensing precise quantities of fluids. In some implementations, a pump includes a pump head including one or more recesses configured to receive one or more corresponding roller elements; and a pump body including an input port, and output port, a first fluid channel, and a second fluid channel, wherein the first fluid channel is formed in part from rigid walls of the pump body and in part from a semi-rigid membrane positioned on at least a portion of the pump body; wherein the pump head is rotatably coupled to the pump body such that the one or more roller elements interface with the semi-rigid membrane such that during rotation the roller elements compress the semi-rigid membrane to push fluid trapped within the first fluid channel in the direction of rotation.
PLANAR FLOW CHANNELS FOR PERISTALTIC PUMPS
A flow channel plate suitable for use with a peristaltic pump comprises: a planar substrate; a flow channel in the planar substrate and mechanical strain relief means in the planar substrate, allowing lateral expansion of the flow channel during vertical compression of the flow channel. The path of the flow channel in the flow channel plate may be nonlinear. The flow channel may be characterized by a Davis-Butterfield cross sectional shape. A roller pump head comprises: a flow channel plate; a roller cage; tapered rollers held in position by the roller cage; and a drive rotor comprising one of a tapered rotor and a rotor having a radially limited zone of contact on the sloping portions of the tapered roller. Lower surfaces of the tapered rollers apply force to the flow channel plate and upper surfaces of the tapered rollers receive force from the drive rotor.
Organ on chip integration and applications of the same
A rotary planar peristaltic micropump (RPPM) includes an actuator having a shaft engaged with a motor such that activation of the motor causes the shaft to rotate, and a bearing assembly engaged with the shaft. The bearing assembly has a bearing cage defining a plurality of spaced-apart openings thereon, and a plurality of rolling-members accommodated in the plurality of spaced-apart openings of the bearing cage, such that when the shaft rotates, the plurality of rolling-members of the bearing assembly rolls along a circular path. The RPPM also includes a fluidic path in fluidic communication with first and second ports. The fluidic path is positioned under the actuator and coincident with the circular path, such that when the shaft of the actuator rotates, the plurality of rolling-members of the bearing assembly rolls along the fluidic path to cause a fluid to transfer between the first and second ports.
INFUSION SYSTEM CONSUMABLES AND RELATED CALIBRATION METHODS
Infusion systems including infusion devices and consumables and related operating methods are provided. An exemplary consumable component includes a housing, a reservoir contained within the housing, a pumping mechanism for dispensing a fluid from the reservoir, and a readable element associated with the housing. The readable element maintains calibration data characterizing a relationship between delivery of the fluid and actuation of the pumping mechanism.
Pump roller assembly with independently sprung rollers
A roller assembly comprises a central section with a hub; a plurality of arms coupled to the central section such that each arm is capable of moving independently with respect to the central section; a plurality of spring pins, one spring pin associated with each arm; a plurality of retaining pins, one retaining pin associated with each arm; and a plurality of rollers, one roller coupled to each arm.
Tube pump
Provided is a tube pump including: first and second roller units that rotate about the axis while being in contact with a tube; a drive shaft arranged on the axis and coupled to the first roller unit; a drive cylinder arranged on the axis and coupled to the second roller unit; a first drive unit configured to rotate the drive shaft in a predetermined direction about the axis and having a first drive shaft configured to rotate about the axis; and a second drive unit configured to rotate the drive cylinder in the predetermined direction about the axis and having a second drive cylinder configured to rotate about the axis, the drive shaft is arranged to penetrate through the second drive unit along the axis, and the drive cylinder is arranged on an outer circumference side of the drive shaft and rotatably about the axis independently of the drive shaft.
PERISTALTIC MICROPUMP AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A peristaltic micropump includes one or more flexible channels configured to transfer one or more pumped fluids, and an actuator configured to engage the one or more flexible channels and rotate about a central axis. The actuator includes a plurality of rolling elements and a driving element configured such that the driving element operably rotates about the central axis and each rolling element operably rolls about a respective axis that is not parallel to the central axis. The plurality of rolling elements is disposed between the one or more flexible channels and the driving element. The driving element includes a cage configured to capture the plurality of rolling elements such that the plurality of rolling elements is located at different radii from a center of the cage.
