Slurry Pump
20200011329 · 2020-01-09 ·

In a rotor in rotor configuration, a pump has inward projections on an outer rotor and outward projections on an inner rotor. The outer rotor is driven and the projections mesh to create variable volume chambers. The outer rotor may be driven in both directions. In each direction, the driving part (first inward projection) of the outer rotor contacts a sealing surface on one side of an outward projection of the inner rotor, while a gap is left between a sealing surface of the other side of the outward projection and a second inward projection. The gap may have uniform width along its length in the radial direction, while in a direction parallel to the rotor axis it may be discontinuous or have variable size to create flow paths for gases.

Idler gear for positive displacement gear pump

A gear pump for low speed transfers of viscous liquid slurries promotes growth of suspended particles, such as sugar crystals, by avoiding crushing of the particles. The pump includes a rotor gear in mesh with an eccentrically mounted idler gear supported on a boss of a pump head that includes a crescent seal extending into an opening resulting from the eccentricity of the idler gear relative to the rotor gear. The idler gear contains a radially extending land on each tooth profile, symmetrically oriented on adjacently spaced pairs of teeth. The lands, configured to minimize crushing of crystals passing through the pump, engage mating rotor teeth for sealing between inlet and outlet ports of the pump. To promote crystal growth, the lands cover only 10% to 30% of profile surface area of each tooth. To minimize gear tooth wear, the lands are axially staggered between successive adjacent pairs of teeth.

Tolerance independent crescent internal gear pump

A crescent internal gear pump includes a front cover, an end cover, a ring gear and a pinion gear disposed within a gear housing in an eccentric, intermeshing relationship. The housing is disposed intermediate the front cover and the end cover. A crescent is disposed radially intermediate the ring gear and the pinion gear. The crescent partially extends into a correspondingly shaped slot in the end cover. The gear housing, the ring gear, and the pinion gear can have substantially the same thickness. A shim can be disposed intermediate the end cover and the gear housing for establishing a desired clearance therebetween.

The application relates to an internal gear machine for reversing duty having a housing with a chamber, in the chamber there are disposed an externally toothed pinion and an internally toothed ring gear, which mesh with one another, the rotational axes of which run parallel to and spaced apart from one another. The chamber in the housing is axially bounded and is connected via pressure pockets provided in the housing to pressure connections in the internal gear machine. According to the invention, a switching valve is arranged in each connection between the pressure pockets and the pressure connections or compression spaces, which valve opens or closes the connection.

Magnetically engaged pump

A magnetically engaged pump includes a pump housing with a rotatable magnetic drive assembly, a cylindrical canister and a rotatable driven magnet assembly. This magnetic coupling is associated with a pump rotor and a laterally positioned gear wheel to define a gear pump. This magnetic coupling is alternatively associated with a pump rotor with an impeller to define a centrifugal pump. Either pump includes a stationary shaft to mount the driven magnet assembly and pump rotor. A rotatable carrier with bushings and thrust bushings coaxially supports the rotatable driven magnet assembly and pump rotor.

An internal gear fluid machine has a first gearwheel having external toothing mounted rotatably about a first axis of rotation and a second gearwheel having internal toothing meshing in regions with the external toothing in an engagement region and mounted rotatably about a second axis of rotation different from the first axis of rotation. A filler piece is arranged between the first gearwheel and the second gearwheel away from the meshing region which bears on the one side against the external toothing and on the other side against the internal toothing, in order to divide a fluid space present between the first gearwheel and the second gearwheel into a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber, and housing walls of a machine housing of the internal gear fluid machine being arranged in the axial direction with respect to the first axis of rotation on both sides of the first gearwheel and of the second gearwheel. The second gearwheel is surrounded in the circumferential direction to form a hydrostatic bearing by a bearing recess formed in the machine housing, which bearing recess at least partially overlaps the second gearwheel in the axial direction and is fluidically connected to a fluid connection of the internal gear fluid machine via a fluid line having a flow resistance.

In an internally rotating gear pump, a pinion having external teeth and a gear having internal teeth are housed in a casing. The pinion and the gear rotate while the internal teeth and the external teeth are meshed with each other. The pinion is a driving gear that is coupled to a rotating shaft receiving a rotating force from an external motor, such that the pinion and the rotating shaft are rotationally driven in an integrated manner when the rotating shaft is driven. The gear is a driven gear, and is rotatably supported on a gear pin provided to the casing via a gear bush serving as a slide bearing.
