The gear pump has: the drive gear into which the rotating shaft of the electric motor is inserted; the driven gear meshed with the drive gear; and the pump housing configured to accommodate the drive gear and the driven gear, and the motor housing is attached to the pump housing such that the gap is formed between the motor housing and the pump housing in the radial direction of the rotating shaft.

A scavenging centrifugal baffle pump includes a main pump including a pump housing, a gear external to the pump housing coupled to the main pump, a baffle connected to the main pump housing defining an interior volume, the gear at least partially located in the interior volume, a reservoir defined in the interior volume of the baffle, an inlet defined in the baffle adjacent to the reservoir, an opening defined in the baffle, wherein the opening exposes a portion of the gear, and an elongate passage defined by the baffle including an outlet, wherein the elongate passage connects the interior volume of the baffle with the outlet.

The external gear pump may include a housing, a first gear, a second gear, and an end plate. The housing may define an inlet and a discharge port. The first gear may include a first tooth and a second tooth. The second gear may be disposed within the housing and include a third tooth that engages the first tooth and the second tooth to form a pressure pocket. The end plate may be disposed within the housing. The first gear and the second gear may each be rotatably coupled to the end plate. The end plate may define a discharge channel and a bridge portion. The discharge channel may extend between the discharge port and the bridge portion. The bridge portion may define a relief portion and the relief portion may be configured such that fluid is communicated from the pressure pocket to the discharge port.
