A closure cap (1) having a flange (2) for connecting to a flange of an infusion solution container, wherein the cap (1) has at least one integrated stopper (3a, 3b) in order for liquids to be removed from, or introduced into, the container and for re-sealing purposes once liquid has been removed or introduced.

Automatic positioning of standard planes for real-time fetal heart evaluation

An ultrasound system and method are described for acquiring standard views of the fetal heart simultaneously with real-time imaging. A matrix array probe is manipulated until a first standard view such as a 4-chamber view is acquired. The first standard view image is matched to its corresponding plane in a fetal heart model. From the matched plane of the heart model, the orientations of the other standard views are known from the geometrical relationships of structures within the heart model. This orientation information is used to control the matrix array probe to automatically scan the planes of all of the standard views simultaneously in real-time.

Start-up algorithm for an implantable blood pump
09731058 · 2017-08-15 · ·

A system and a method for starting a rotor of an implantable blood pump are described. For example, a blood pump system includes a rotary motor having a stator and a rotor. The rotor has permanent magnetic poles for magnetic levitation of the rotor, and the stator has a plurality of pole pieces arranged circumferentially at intervals. The blood pump system includes a controller configured to control a start phase of the rotor, wherein the start phase is prior to the rotor being positioned in a predefined geometric volume for pumping blood and wherein the start phase includes performing a rotation of the rotor by an angle larger than an angle corresponding to a quarter of an angular distance between two neighboring magnetic poles of the rotor.

Mobile device and pupil recognition method

A mobile device comprises a pupil information collecting module and a master control module, such that the pupil information collecting module may be used for collecting pupil characteristic information of a user. The master control module may receive the pupil characteristic information of the user when the user accesses a controlled unit, and may determine, on the basis of the pupil characteristic in formation of the user, if the user is allowed to access the controlled unit. The mobile device may use the pupil characteristic information of the user to perform identity verification.

Orthopaedic plate
09770275 · 2017-09-26 · ·

An orthopedic device for repairing a portion of a body comprises an orthopedic plate and a tissue protector. The orthopedic plate is configured to attach to at least one bone. The tissue protector is securely attached to the orthopedic plate and configured to at least partially detach from the orthopedic plate after a force is applied to the tissue protector. The tissue protector includes a thinned region at a portion of the tissue protector proximate to the orthopedic plate. A method of repairing parts of a body with an orthopedic device having an orthopedic plate and a tissue protector securely attached to the orthopedic plate comprises placing the orthopedic plate on at least one bone; fastening a fastener into the tissue protector and then the orthopedic plate; and detaching the tissue protector from the orthopedic plate after the fastener is completely fastened into the tissue protector and the orthopedic plate.

Compact medical pump device
09770555 · 2017-09-26 · ·

A compact medical fluid infusion pump and method for using thereof is described. The compact includes a medicament reservoir integrated with a rotary pump for providing a user thereof with a controlled quantity of fluid-medicament. The rotary pump includes at least one stationary arm and at least one rotating arm such that an operating device configured to operate the rotary pump thereby the fluid-medicament is impelled through an outlet channel of the reservoir and infusing the medicament into a user.

Combination prosthetic and orthotic device

An aid device for the motor disabled, suitable for allowing walking of transfemoral amputees, having: a lower-limb prosthesis of an amputated limb; a lower-limb orthosis suitable to be worn at a sound contralateral lower-limb; an orthotic pelvis module connecting the prosthesis to the lower-limb orthosis; and a control unit for the operational coordination of movements of the prosthesis and the lower-limb orthosis.

Device and method for fixating a suture anchor with a suture or a headed anchor in hard tissue
09808235 · 2017-11-07 · ·

A device and method for fixating soft tissue to hard tissue with the aid of a suture anchor and a suture or with the aid of a headed anchor, wherein the anchor is forced into the hard tissue and then anchored therein by in situ liquefaction of a material having thermoplastic properties. The device includes a vibration tool and the anchor and possibly a support element, wherein the anchor includes an anchor foot and a thermoplastic sleeve. The thermoplastic sleeve includes the material having thermoplastic properties. The anchor foot has a distal end suitable for being forced into hard tissue and it is connected to the distal end of the vibration tool and the thermoplastic sleeve sits on a proximal face of the anchor foot, the vibration tool and/or a proximal portion of the anchor foot extending into or through the thermoplastic sleeve.

Medical knife

A medical knife includes a blade plate and a blade portion formed at the distal end of the blade plate. Cutting edges extend from the distal end to the proximal end of the blade portion. Two blade surfaces in the width direction of a back-face portion of the blade portion are formed to gradually increase a distance between opposite side and cutting edge from one of the distal end and the proximal end to the other. The two blade surfaces in the width direction of a front-face portion of the blade portion are formed such that the distance between the opposite side and the cutting edge becomes equal in a zone corresponding to a distal end of the cutting edge and a zone corresponding to a proximal end of the cutting edge, over the entire cutting edge from the distal end to the proximal end of the cutting edge.
