Scroll compressor with axial flux motor
A compressor may include a first compression member, a second compression member, and a motor assembly. The second compression member is movable relative to the first compression member and cooperates with the first compression member to define a compression pocket therebetween. The motor assembly drives one of the first and second compression members relative to the other one of the first and second compression members. The motor assembly includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor is rotatable relative to the stator about a rotational axis. The stator surrounds the rotational axis. The rotor may include magnets that are arranged around the rotational axis. The magnets may be spaced apart from the stator in an axial direction that is parallel to the first rotational axis.
Rotary blood pump with opposing spindle magnets, bore and drive windings
Various contactless bearing mechanisms including hydrodynamic and magnetic bearings are provided for a rotary pump as alternatives to mechanical contact bearings. In one embodiment, a pump apparatus includes a pump housing defining a pumping chamber. The housing has a spindle extending into the pumping chamber. A spindle magnet assembly includes first and second magnets disposed within the spindle. The first and second magnets are arranged proximate each other with their respective magnetic vectors opposing each other. The lack of mechanical contact bearings enables longer life pump operation and less damage to working fluids such as blood.
MOTOR PUMP
A motor pump capable of preventing deformation of a resin-made motor casing due to heat while securing a mechanical strength of the motor casing is disclosed. The motor pump includes a motor casing made of resin. The motor stator is disposed in the motor casing. The motor casing includes a partition wall located between the impeller and stator coils, ribs extending radially, and an inner frame connected to an inner edge of the partition wall. The partition wall is fixed to the ribs. The motor casing has guide protrusions formed on an outer surface of the inner frame, and further has recesses formed between the guide protrusions.
FLUID PUMP ASSEMBLY
A fluid pump assembly is provided. The pump has a pair of units magnetically coupled to each other. The first unit contains a drive motor and a magnetic assembly. The second unit contains a magnetic assembly and a blade of a propeller/impeller for imparting movement to a fluid. As the first unit is activated by the drive motor, a magnetic flux is created which in turn rotates the magnetic assembly in the second unit, driving the blade.
Alternating pump gaps
A blood pump system includes a pump housing and an impeller for rotating in a pump chamber within the housing. The impeller has a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The system includes a stator having drive coils for applying a torque to the impeller and at least one bearing mechanism for suspending the impeller within the pump chamber. The system includes a position control mechanism for moving the impeller in an axial direction within the pump chamber to adjust a size of a first gap and a size of a second gap, thereby controlling a washout rate at each of the first gap and the second gap. The first gap is defined by a distance between the first side and the housing and the second gap is defined by a distance between the second side and the pump housing.
PUMP APPARATUS
A pump apparatus is provided with a tank in which a handled-fluid having insulating properties is stored, and with a pump that is mounted in the tank. The pump has an impeller in which a magnet is embedded, a motor stator that is disposed at a position opposing the magnet, a pump casing that houses the impeller, and a motor casing that houses the motor stator. The motor casing is open such that a winding of the motor stator is immersed in the handled-fluid.
WATER-COOLING DEVICE
A water-cooling device includes a pump case, at least one winding, a driver and a heat exchange member. The pump case has a top section, a bottom section and a peripheral section together defining a pump chamber. The winding is disposed on a circuit board. The circuit board is disposed on any of the top section, the bottom section and the peripheral section. The driver is disposed in the pump chamber. At least one magnetic member is disposed on the driver in a position corresponding to the winding, whereby the magnetic member can induce and magnetize the winding on the circuit board. The heat exchange member is connected with the pump case. By means of the structural design of the water-cooling device, the volume of the water-cooling device is greatly minified and the structure of the water-cooling device is thinned.
IMPELLER SUSPENSION MECHANISM FOR HEART PUMP
A centrifugal blood pump includes a housing that defines an inlet passage, a chamber, and an outlet passage. The pump includes an impeller rotatably positioned in the chamber to transfer blood from the inlet passage through the chamber and to the outlet passage and magnetic members embedded in the impeller such that the impeller and the magnetic members rotate together within the chamber. The pump includes a motor to control movement of the impeller in the chamber. The motor is adjacent the chamber and separated from the chamber by a partition member. The pump includes an inner annular magnetic member and an outer annular magnetic member embedded in a side of the housing opposite the partition member. A first net magnetic force between the inner annular magnetic member and the magnetic members exhibits greater attraction than a second net magnetic force between the outer annular member and the magnetic members.
COMPACT, MODULAR, INTEGRAL PUMP OR TURBINE WITH COAXIAL FLUID FLOW
A coaxial pump or turbine module directs working fluid past a rotor and through a flow path symmetrically distributed within an annulus formed between an outer module housing and an inner motor or generator coil housing. The inner housing can be cooled by working fluid in the flow path, or by a cooling fluid flowing between passages of the flow path. The flow path can extend over substantially a full length and rear surface of the inner housing. The rotor can be fixed to a rotating shaft, or rotate about a fixed shaft, which can be threaded into the motor and/or module housing. A plurality of the modules can be combined into a multi-stage apparatus, with rotor speeds independently controlled by corresponding variable frequency drives. The motor or generator can include radial or axial permanent magnets and/or induction coils. Embodiments include guide vanes and/or diffusers.
