A blower includes a body having a main inlet opening and a discharge opening, a motor assembly housed in the body, and an auxiliary inlet opening. The motor assembly includes a case, a motor and a fan. The case has a first opening and a second opening. The motor is housed within the case. The fan is configured to rotate in response to driving of the motor to generate a flow of air passing the main inlet opening, the first opening, the motor, the second opening and the discharge opening in this order. A first space that communicates with the main inlet opening and the first opening of the case is formed within the body. The auxiliary inlet opening is configured to introduce the air from an outside of the body into the first space.

Compact low noise efficient blower for CPAP devices

A blower for providing a supply of air at positive pressure in the range of approximately 2 cm H.sub.2O to 30 cm H.sub.2O includes a motor, at least one impeller, and a stationary component. The stationary component includes an inlet and an outlet. The motor, the impeller, the inlet and outlet are co-axial.

A blower includes a body, a motor, and a single fan configured to rotate in response to rotation of a motor shaft to discharge air through a discharge opening. The maximum rotational speed of the motor shaft is within a range of 50,000 rpm to 120,000 rpm. An area of the discharge opening is changeable by a user. The blower is configured to selectively operate in a first mode or in a second mode according to the area of the discharge opening. In the first mode, the maximum blowing force of the air discharged through the opening is within a range of 2.5 N to 5.0 N when the motor is driven at the maximum rotational speed. In the second mode, the maximum dynamic pressure of the air discharged is within a range of 30 kPa to 65 kPa when the motor is driven at the maximum rotational speed.

Motor

A motor includes a housing, a bearing disposed in the housing, a rotating shaft rotatably coupled to the bearing, an impeller cover disposed on an upper part of the housing, an impeller disposed inside the impeller cover and coupled to the rotating shaft, a magnet coupled to a lower area of the rotating shaft, a stator coupled to the housing and facing the magnet, and a coil wound around the stator. In this case, the impeller includes a body, a plurality of blades formed on an outer peripheral surface of the body, a plurality of grooves concavely formed upward from a lower surface of the body, and a coupling hole formed in a central area of the body and in which the rotating shaft is disposed.
